    Rom 8:18 Suffering in the Life of the Believer (Part 5)

    In Romans 8:18, Paul has told us that the Christian will suffer for Christ. Today we'll see that Christianity is unique from other religions in how it tells the believer to deal with suffering by using reasoning. The believer must reason that his future is better than his present, and that his present day suffering cannot be compared to his future glory. From Romans Chapter 8, the believer can recall what God has done for him, who God has told him he is, and what his future is. The believer must let truth and reasoning control his feelings.

    In Romans 8:18, Paul is now talking about how the Christian should face suffering. In this sermon we'll see how the Christian should NOT react to suffering: 1-Don't be surprised that suffering happens 2-Don't be shaken by suffering 3-Realize there is no promise in Scripture that you will have relief or improvement in your sufferings on Earth 4-Realize that the Christian is not called to try to improve the world so that his suffering is reduced 5-Don't just resign yourself to your condition - stoic resignation
