    Spiritual Conflict - Part 2 - Understanding demonic influence

    This episode is a message that Tim gave at the Frontier Campus of Newlife Church in Salmo BC, which is part two in a three-part series on spiritual conflict and delivernace ministry.  In this episode, Tim takes a deeper look into the third enemy we face as Christians and that is Satan and the demonic. In the bible, Satan and demons are real spiritual beings who once served in the presence of God but rebelled and were cast out of heaven. In Revelation 12, we are offered a glimpse into a heavenly war that depicts this event.  Jesus, in his earthly ministry, often encountered and confronted these very real, sentient spiritual beings and it’s clear that they had real influence in people lives to cause torment and bondage.  This message gives some biblical insight into the nature of demons and how they operate.     Spiritual Conflict - Part 1 - A battle against three enemies

    This episode is a message that Tim gave at Newlife Church in Castlegar BC on May 3, 2026, which was the first of a 3-part series on spiritual conflict (or spiritual warfare).  To begin the discussion on spiritual conflict, it’s important to start with a broader look at the topic and ask the question, what exactly are we in conflict with?  When this topic comes up, most Christians immediately think of Satan and the demonic. Scripture makes it clear however that there are two other enemies we face, that are equal in their significance, and maleficence - the flesh and the world.  The flesh is a biblical phrase that refers to the inward sinful nature that we are at war with as Christians. Paul described that he delighted in the law of God in his inner being, yet there was another law waging war against the law of his mind holding him captive to the law of sin that dwelt in his members (Romans 7:22-23). The world (in one sense), refers to the ungodly organized systems, and patterns of the world. John writes, “do not love the world… for all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life —is not from the Father but is from the world (1 John 2:15-16). Jesus prayed to the Father and said “I do not pray that you take them out of the world, but keep them from the evil one.” As Christians, we can’t escape from the world, but are exhorted not to be of the world or be a friend of the world.  Tune in to this introductory look at the three enemies we face, as we begin the discussion on spiritual conflict.     This episode is an introduction to a 3-part miniseries on the topic of Spiritual Conflict and Deliverance.  Tim shares a bit of his early experience of spiritual conflict, and how he was introduced to deliverance ministry… Additionally, Tim outlines some of the books  resources that were helpful in working through this topic, and forming a strong biblical theology.  In April 2026, Tim was invited to teach several sessions with two churches in BC’s southern interior on the topics of spiritual gifts and spiritual conflict.     Living by faith - Gateway Foursquare Church -February 23, 2025

    This episode is a message that Tim gave on February 23, 2025 at Gateway Foursquare Church in Campbell River BC.  To live as a follower of Christ, is to live a life of faith. It is impossible to have a relationship with God without faith as it is written “without faith it is impossible to please God…”  The interesting thing about faith, is that it is not something that can be produced by human means. It is always described biblically as something that God empowers and enables, and that he gives freely as a gift. This is true of saving faith, or salvific faith… but this is also true of another expression of faith that we can observe in scripture. As mentioned earlier, every Christian is saved by faith and without faith there is no relationship with God… but there is another type of faith that is often recognized and commended by Jesus (Jesus also points out the absence of such faith) and this is the on-going, operational faith by which we live day to day as followers of Christ. It is to truly believe in God and his word, and this is the theme that the writer of Hebrews picks up leading up to chapter 11, often referred to as the “hall of faith.”  In chapter 6 of Hebrews the writer exhorts believers to “imitate those who by faith and patience inherit the promises of God” (Hebrews 6:12). Later in chapter 11 the writer recalls the incredible lives of great men and women of faith, who believed in God and whose lives are remembered in the pages of scripture. The point is this- that we would look to the lives of these great saints and imitate their faith!  Join me as we dive into this topic of living by faith, looking further into how we define faith, and how we live fully in faith, imitating the great saints who have gone before us.     Send us Fan Mail

    Members of one body - Quadra Island Bible Church - January 19, 2025

    This episode is message that Tim gave at the Quadra Island Bible Church on January 19, 2025.  In this message Tim focuses on the opening verses of Roman’s 12, and then takes time to explore Paul’s theme of the Body of Christ described in verses 3-8. Paul exhorts the Church to be sober in their thinking, not think of themselves more highly than they ought to think but each in accordance with the measure of faith that God has assigned.     The second coming of Christ - Quadra Island Bible Church - December 22, 2024

    This episode is a sermon that Tim gave at the Quadra Island Bible Church on December 22, 2024.  During the advent season, Christians all over the world take time to focus on the events surrounding Jesus first coming, and they celebrate the amazing moment in history when at the fullness of time, God himself took on flesh and made his dwelling among us.  As we celebrate Christ’s entrance into the world, we also see a remarkable demonstration of God’s faithfulness to his word. God promised this event through the prophets, and gave many accurate details ahead of time regarding Christ’s birth, his life, his death and his resurrection- all of which came to pass. There are approximately 330 prophecies regarding the coming of the Messiah in scripture, 110 of which were  directly fulfilled at the time of Jesus first coming. This means that there are around 220 remaining promises in the bible regarding the coming of the Messiah which will be fulfilled in his second coming.  In his final week before the crucifixion, Jesus sat with his disciples on the mount of Olives and gave details regarding the coming destruction of the second temple, the events leading up to his coming, and of his appearing.  Beginning around 400 AD, the Church began to celebrate of the advent and it later became part of the liturgical calendar. As early christians put Jesus’ first coming in view, they also took time to be reminded and encouraged that just as God fulfilled 110 promises in Christ’s first coming, so will he also fulfill the remaining promises regarding Jesus second coming.  Enjoy this message, and thank you for listening.     Jesus welcomes the poor - Quadra Island Bible Church - May 19, 2024

    This episode is a message that Tim gave at the Quadra Island Bible Church on Sunday May 19, 2024. In Luke chapter 14, Jesus was invited to dine with some Pharisees on the Sabbath, during which he taught them and told parables… Jesus made some challenging comments to them as he confronted head-on some of their misplaced religious confidence and exposed their self-righteousness.  In this setting Jesus tells the parable of the Great Banquet and warns the religious of his day not to trust in their own righteousness or become preoccupied with the things of the world lest they miss their invitation into God’s Kingdom. Jesus also demonstrates the radical compassion of God toward the poor, and once again points to the opposite-nature of the kingdom where the first become last and the last become first.  Lastly, Jesus uses this parable to invite us to live as he lived… to go among the poor and the broken in the streets,  to welcome them - in fact compel them to God’s banquet, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these (James 2:5)  Send us Fan Mail
