History Revisited With Reflection is a podcast series, and Social Studies/History curriculum development entity created by Kevin Stuart and dedicated to teaching about the past. HRWR endeavors to bring greater depth both in research and understanding to the general public. The podcast series created by HRWR is focused on different historical eras each within their respective contexts, while at the same time encouraging greater higher-order thinking among the audience by including outside sources that encourage reflection.

    US1.5 - The Anarchiad, # 1

    In this episode, as promised in the previous episodes, I will be examining the Anarchiad over the next 12 episodes. In each episode, I’ll be reading to you from an installment of the American Antiquities (The Anarchiad), which was a mock-epic poem first published in the New-Haven Gazette and the Connecticut Magazine on October 26, 1786. After reading it, I'll examine it and share some thoughts on it with you.     US1.4 - A Focus on Shay's Rebellion, Part 2

    In this second part of this two-part episode focused on the various aspects leading up to Shays' Rebellion, we consider more of the people and circumstances they faced in the lead up to open hostilities, followed by a look at the armed obstruction and then open hostilities that took place during Shays' Rebellion. In doing so, we consult historians Leonard L. Richards, David P. Szatmary, Sean Condon, Michael Lienesch, and Judge, Jonathan Smith. But we also hear the words of historical people like Noah Webster, John Quincy Adams, Prince Hall, and Baron von Steuben.     US1.3, Part 2 - Complex Problems Under the Articles of Confederation

    In this second part of a two-part episode focused on the complex problems that the United States was facing under the Articles of Confederation, I start off with a mental caveat inspired by the thoughts of Psychology professor, Daniel Todd Gilbert. Then I consider the tremendous burden that American veterans of the Revolutionary War were facing during the economic depression that they were living through. After that we also consider thoughts from John L. Smith Jr., Ben Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson.
