    There was a time in my journey when even Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—my ultimate outlet for growth and healing—couldn’t provide the refuge I needed. My PTSD had me stuck in fight-or-flight mode, and all I wanted to do was run. Training felt different, harder, and I had to approach it in a way I never had before. This was the period I now call "Trust & Surrender." It was a time when I realized that healing isn’t always about pushing through—it’s about stepping back, listening, and allowing the universe to guide you. I leaned into my faith and began to see the signs all around me—gentle reminders that I wasn’t alone and that life’s challenges are part of a greater plan. In this episode, I’m opening up about how I learned to trust the process, surrender control, and find strength in faith during one of the hardest seasons of my life. After starting the year on a high note, I dove headfirst into job hunting—a daunting yet rewarding process that eventually led me to land my actual dream job. With that milestone under my belt, I embraced even more exciting changes, including moving in with my partner and building out a nonprofit focused on self-defense and online safety for women. Amidst the hustle, there were moments of quiet triumph too, like earning my purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—a recognition of years of hard work, dedication, and love for the sport. But this season wasn’t just about checking boxes and achieving goals. It was about learning to be present in the moment, recognizing when it’s time to step back, cool down, and recharge, and being deeply grateful for the opportunities and people in my life. After being laid off from what I thought was my dream job and saying goodbye to a project I was deeply passionate about, I faced one of the toughest moments of my career. But instead of letting it hold me back, I took a leap of faith and gave myself the space to rediscover my purpose. I dedicated a month to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—training harder than ever and preparing for a competition that reignited my love for the grind.
