    Canpeople who are blind learn to perceive colors, shapes, and theirsurroundings through methods other than ordinary eyesight? In thisfascinating discussion, Grant Cameron and Desta Barnabe exploreblindfold reading, intuitive perception, and the possibility thatpeople can develop unusual perceptual abilities through training andpractice. Grantbegins by explaining his interest in investigating blindfold readingafter a podcaster challenged the practice, suggesting it could beexplained as a magic trick.     The Split Brain, the Muse & UFO Contact: Where Does Inspiration Come From? Grant Cameron & Desta Barnabe

    Whatif some of our most profound inspirations, creative breakthroughs andparanormal experiences come from a part of the mind that is normallyovershadowed by the analytical brain? In this fascinating discussion,Grant Cameron and Desta Barnabe explore the mysterious relationshipbetween the brain, consciousness, inspiration, altered states and UFOcontact. Theconversation begins with the famous split-brain experimentsassociated with Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga. When the corpuscallosum connecting the two hemispheres was severed in patients withsevere epilepsy, researchers discovered striking differences betweenthe two sides of the brain. Grant and Desta discuss experiments inwhich the two hemispheres appeared to have different preferences,responses and even conflicting intentions. They suggest that thenormally dominant left hemisphere acts as an “interpreter,”constantly trying to explain experiences in familiar and rationalterms.
