Welcome to the McAnally’s Pubcast, a podcast dedicated to the Dresden Files Universe. For the newly indoctrinated, Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files follows the story of a professional wizard in Chicago. The first book, Storm Front, was published in 2000, and the series now boasts 17 novels, plus a combined 36 short stories, comics, and graphic novels to help flesh out the world. On top of that, the Dresden Files has also produced a television series, card games, and a TTRPG. With all of that content (and a ballpark estimate of 6 coming novels), we’ve started our Dresden Files Podcast as a way to help break down the series most important moments, characters and lore. Wild Card Issue 3 Summary:Marcone has decided to wage war on the police who he thinks have attacked one of his men. Murphy is followed and attacked by the strange man who has been setting everyone up. She’s able to defend herself up until her backup arrives. Wild Card Issue 4 Summary:The conflict between the powers escalates as each faction retaliates against one another.     McAnally's Pubcast - A Dresden Files PodcastWe discuss the first two issues of Wild Card in which Molly is in vengeance mode, and Harry is surprisingly resilient against Tyto Furcata Supernaturalis Wild Card Issue 1 Summary:Harry takes on a new case with two women dying under mysterious conditions. Because the murders look suspiciously like a White Court Vampire attack, Harry enlists his brother Thomas to make inquiries with Lara. Before they can get to her, they are attacked by a giant supernatural Owl. Wild Card Issue 2 Summary:Thomas and Harry are able to dispatch the attacking Owl and make it to Lara’s. Harry and Lara spar while discussing the recent deaths of the two women, and Lara's family members. Lara is convinced Johnny Marcone is responsible and is declaring war but Harry disagrees.     19.3 Down Town: Kathoom

    McAnally's Pubcast - A Dresden Files PodcastHere We discuss Issue 5 & 6 in which Big Hands Bad Santa gives no regard for chest wounds, Marcone is a germaphobe and decides to try out Martyrdom for fun. Down Town Issue 5 Summary:Harry and his group confront the master of the Golem and are able to defeat him. They discover the altar that controls where the attacks are directed, and find out the next one will be at the Children’s Hospital. Down Town Issue 6 Summary:Marcone insists on killing the infected hostage but Harry convinces him otherwise. In a daring move, Marcone switches himself for the target instead of the children’s hospital. The group fights off the newly redirected golem.     19.2 Down Town: Bad Santa and the Sycophant

    McAnally's Pubcast - A Dresden Files PodcastWe discuss Issue 3 and 4 in which a goo hunting we go, Bad Santa has a lapse in language, and Mouse becomes a character from Avatar The Last Airbender. Down Town Issue 3 Summary:Molly is able to free herself from the oxygen impeding goo and trap it. The Sorcerer that controls the monster decides to change tactics and has the Golem kidnap the next victim to bring back to him. Harry and Molly decide to use the kinetically enhanced goo to track the Golem to its home base but Marcone apprehends them before they can continue. Down Town Issue 4 Summary:Harry and his group continue through Undertown. They are briefly set back by the psychic attack of malicious spiders but eventually make their way to the man in control of the Golem.     19.1 Down Town: Pride, Protection, and a Mischief

    McAnally's Pubcast - A Dresden Files PodcastHere we discuss the first issue of Down Town in which there is much confusion over cover art consistency, story motivation and art choices. Down Town Issue 1 Summary:Harry and Molly begin to assist in the investigation of a supernaturally caused death that Murphy is looking into. Marcone warns Harry to not get involved. Down Town Issue 2 Summary:Harry enlists Bob’s help with checking out the crime scene. While they talk, the monster attacks a man next door at the laundromat, killing him. With the help of Bob, Harry enlists a nature spirit which brings him to Undertown. Molly in the meantime is attacked by the mysterious substance from the crime scene.
