    Surviving abuse and bullying

    When we have come from a childhood of abuse and are feeling vulnerable, we may feel we don’t have the strength to deal with bullies. Shame and self doubt keep me captive for most of my life. Through counselling I gain a better insight into myself and started the road back to self awareness began to feel more confident joined Toast Masters and began speaking out about the unspeakable ... childhood sexual abuse.. I realised the is a person aside from my experience inside me that is brave and resilient. I am enjoying connecting with the person I would have been before the abuse. I’m still a work in progress but my happiness is growing.

    A over view of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

    Having PTSD can feel like it will never improve but when you survive an event... that courage that helped you survive can be a catalyst for a wonderful life. Having PTSD all my life seemed like a burden until I hit mid 20’s now in my 50’s , I wish I could have told my young self how wonderful life is now.
