What begins as a search for clues quickly spirals into arcane riddles, hidden passageways, and forbidden laboratories humming with unstable magic. As Algud reveals his terrifying theory of a growing continental threat, the group participates in a dangerous ritual that tears open their minds and forces them to witness horrifying visions: pulsing red growths buried in forgotten caves, unseen creatures lurking in the dark, and innocent people suspended in grotesque black cocoons inside the city of Nocturne. With new magical powers, impossible choices, and three separate horrors now demanding their attention, the Ladies of the Knight leave the wizard’s sanctuary knowing one thing for certain, whatever is spreading across the kingdom is closer than they thought.

    The road beyond Notbear offers no safety and the woods are no better. The ladies can't shake the creeping sense that something is watching. As the party ventures deeper into the forest in search of Algood steel and shadows collide when bandits emerge from the wilds, forcing the group into a desperate fight. When the dust settles, they make there way to the lost wizard's house. Its odd appearance and the continuously growing concerns about the odd nature of wizards lead the ladies to approach with caution. Their luck seems to run out when they enter the house and find it quiet. The dormant rooms seem empty of presence. With much to see and do the ladies begin to investigate hoping to find Algood's location.

    At the edge of Notbear, the party stands at a crossroads, one path leading toward distant lightning and death, the other toward the reclusive wizard Algood, whose knowledge is needed to press forward. Choosing to aid over the mission, they venture north... only to discover a crater crackling with unnatural energy and a stagnant figure at its center. Entering the crater causes lightning to surge through their bodies and fear grips their minds as Ayeth revives the fallen warrior. With his first breath he cries out an oath of vengeance. Allies fall, magic spirals out of control, and whatever they’ve found is only the beginning. And if they’re not careful, the next time lightning strikes… it may not leave anyone standing.

    The road to Dareth was uneventful in all the ways that matter and deeply unsettling in all the others. We were escorted, not accompanied, by a Tiefling who has already proven he can end us if necessary. We spoke of the dream again. We still remember each other, though none of us can say why. The others appear stable unchanged. I have confirmed this from their blood. That should be reassuring. It is not. We arrived at the gates of Dareth to something resembling celebration. Vino prepared us for it, though not completely. The smell told me the rest. Whatever we are, we are no longer just travelers. We are being brought somewhere with purpose, and I am no longer certain that purpose aligns with our survival.

    After surviving the devastating arrival of Gale the Dread, our heroes spend a restless night within the magically warded Lunar Lodge, where uneasy silence reveals far more than safety. Strange figures slip into the forest under cover of darkness, and a lone, grieving dwarf wanders the ruined streets. By morning, the party follows that thread to Burgundy Strongflame, a blacksmith preparing to abandon Notbar, who reveals that the wizard they seek (Algood) has vanished, tearing his very home from the ground and fleeing into the western woods. With cryptic warnings of a growing evil, a mysterious package entrusted to them, and rumors of monsters, bandits, and worse lurking ahead, the party must decide: chase answers into the haunted forest, or be drawn into new mysteries rising within the town itself. Either way, something is moving beneath the surface of Bayon… and it’s only just beginning.

Leaving the safety of Godfrey’s Mansion behind, the party boards an enormous moth to carry them across the skies of Bayon. But before they depart, they encounter another enigmatic wizard who equips them with strange magical tools meant to help them track any unknown evil. As they travel, the vast landscape of Bayon reveals troubling signs: mysterious caravans moving north, rare and valuable trees being uprooted, and dragons flying in unusual numbers. Their journey takes a darker turn when an ancient dragon, Gayle the Dread, passes overhead, a living legend whose immense shadow reminds them that the world may be far more dangerous than they imagined. By nightfall the party reaches the riverside town of Notbear, where nervous guards, quiet streets, and an air of tension. Somewhere within this town the white-haired wizard Sir Algud waits to be found.
