Is Your Fear of Abandonment Ruining Your Relationships?

Is Your Fear Of Abandonment Ruining Your Relationships?Secure attachment styles and the capacity to trust are among the most commonly disrupted developmental capacities in adults who experienced early childhood trauma. The patterns formed in early childhood keep running in adult relationships, in families, in the workplace, until they are deliberately and consistently reprogrammed. In this episode I address three real questions:Why do I push away the people I love most just when things are getting close? Why do I struggle to trust my co-parent, even when they have given me no reason to doubt them? Why do I insist on doing everything myself and find it almost impossible to rely on anyone at work?Plus I explain the three types of attachments: anxious attachment style, avoidant attachment style and disorganised attachment style developed in childhood. If any of those landed somewhere in your chest, this episode is for you.Links referenced in this episode:Why You Attract the Wrong Partners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvQTO9-PyzEEmotionally Unavailable Partner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK2lZTlsnBwSituationship or Relationship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM2-KwlsiyYTrauma Bonding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwTOXntupHEHealing Wounded Attachments (90 seconds): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/T8eCXy-A7t4Emotional Regulation episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuzT13UmZqkConflict Resolution episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2EeqK6yiYc#SintaEbersohn #GetUpAndGrow #AttachmentTheory #SecureAttachment #TraumaRecovery #Relationships #TraumaResponses #EarlyChildhoodTrauma========== ========== ==========Watch the Video of this episode at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUM6Y9e8qnY========== ========== ==========Join my Get Up and Grow online community for more resources and support in building resilience and achieving post-traumatic growth at https://getupandgrow.co.za/========== ========== ==========Learn more about me and my work at https://sintaebersohn.co.za/========== ========== ==========Contact me directly via email at info@getupandgrow.co.za========== ========== ==========Don't forget to like, subscribe and hit the notification bell for more insightful videos on mental health and wellness.========== ========== ==========Follow Me:https://www.facebook.com/sinta.ebersohnhttps://www.instagram.com/sintaebersohn/https://twitter.com/SintaEbersohnhttps://za.pinterest.com/sebersohn/https://www.tiktok.com/@sintaebersohnhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/sinta-ebersohn-1b01434b/

You Can Learn to Handle Conflict Much Better

You Can Learn to Handle Conflict Much Better: If conflict in your relationships, your family or your workplace has ever felt completely disproportionate to what is actually happening, this episode explains why. The way we respond when tension arises has very little to do with communication skills and everything to do with what conflict meant in the environment where we first learned what it was. I walk through what is actually driving the pattern, what was developmentally stunted and what the work of real change requires.Related videos on this channel:Arguing is Not Fighting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsLUDOIQ3-0Stop Fighting and Master Civil Disagreement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_BxXehJTgk#SintaEbersohn #GetUpAndGrow #ConflictResolution #NervousSystemHealing #TraumaRecovery========== ========== ==========Watch the Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2EeqK6yiYc========== ========== ==========Join my Get Up and Grow online community for more resources and support in building resilience and achieving post-traumatic growth at https://getupandgrow.co.za/========== ========== ==========Learn more about me and my work at https://sintaebersohn.co.za/========== ========== ==========Contact me directly via email at info@getupandgrow.co.za========== ========== ==========Don't forget to like, subscribe and hit the notification bell for more insightful videos on mental health and wellness.========== ========== ==========Follow Me:https://www.facebook.com/sinta.ebersohnhttps://www.instagram.com/sintaebersohn/https://twitter.com/SintaEbersohnhttps://za.pinterest.com/sebersohn/https://www.tiktok.com/@sintaebersohnhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/sinta-ebersohn-1b01434b/

    The Superpowers of Defence

The Superpowers of Defence: This week I close the three-part Superpowers of Early Childhood Trauma series with the final instalment: the Superpowers of Defence. These are the capacities that people with early childhood trauma histories built by necessity, in the absence of protection, guidance or permission. In this episode I walk through three of the four superpowers of defence, exploring what each one looks like before the work has been done and what it transforms into afterwards. The fourth superpower is available exclusively to Get Up and Grow members in this week's Friday Deep Dive newsletter. If you are not yet a member, join us at www.getupandgrow.co.za for $13 USD per month and receive it this Friday.Timestamps00:50 Introduction & Overview02:23 The Superpowers14:54 Conclusion#superpower #superpowers #childhoodtrauma #getupandgrow #sintaebersohn #posttraumaticgrowth #resilience ========== ========== ==========Watch the Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a22G-90_aqY ========== ========== ==========Join my Get Up and Grow online community for more resources and support in building resilience and achieving post-traumatic growth at https://getupandgrow.co.za/========== ========== ==========Learn more about me and my work at https://sintaebersohn.co.za/========== ========== ==========Contact me directly via email at info@getupandgrow.co.za========== ========== ==========Don't forget to like, subscribe and hit the notification bell for more insightful videos on mental health and wellness.========== ========== ==========Follow Me:https://www.facebook.com/sinta.ebersohnhttps://www.instagram.com/sintaebersohn/https://twitter.com/SintaEbersohnhttps://za.pinterest.com/sebersohn/https://www.tiktok.com/@sintaebersohnhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/sinta-ebersohn-1b01434b/

The Superpowers Created in Suffering (Your Worst Experience Could Become Your Superpower)

The Superpowers Created in Suffering (Your Worst Experience Could Become Your Superpower): What if the thing that cost you the most was quietly building something in you that nothing easier could have built? In this episode we are in Part Two of a three-part series called The Superpowers of Early Childhood Trauma. Last week we talked about the capacities forged by survival. This week we go somewhere different, into the interior, into the four capacities that grew directly from having to feel your way through experiences that were too heavy, too early and too often carried alone. In this episode:- Empathy as Precise Attunement: why the attunement that grew from reading people to stay safe is one of the most powerful capacities a human being can carry, and why it took years of personal work before it stopped exhausting me and started serving me- Verbal Precision as the Language of Safety: what it looks like when a gift becomes a weapon, and how the same precision that once caused harm became the foundation of some of the most sacred work I have ever done- Emotional Intelligence as Hard-Won Wisdom: the critical difference between emotional intelligence and emotional health, and why confusing the two is one of the most common mistakes I see in people who are highly attuned but still causing damage without understanding why- The last Superpower is reserved for members of my Get Up And Grow community only, so if you’re curious to find out what it is and learn more about it, join us.This is not a comfortable episode. It is an honest one and I think it might change the way you see your own story. This is personal growth through life lessons on your healing journey.Chapters:00:04 Introduction04:13 Empathy as Precise Attunement08:10 Verbal Precision as Language of Safety11:33 Emotional Intelligence as hard won Wisdom15:12 The fourth Superpower17:30 Conclusion18:36 The April MasterclassThe April Masterclass runs on Wednesday the 29th, exclusively for members. Trauma's Secret Gift: Superpowers You Didn't Know You Had

Trauma's Secret Gift: Superpowers You Didn't Know You Had: What if the very things that were hardest about your childhood were quietly building something inside you that most people spend an entire lifetime trying to develop? In this episode I am beginning a three-part series called The Superpowers of Early Childhood Trauma. This week is Part One: The Superpowers of Survival. We are covering four specific capacities that research in developmental psychology and neuroscience confirms are commonly developed in people who experienced early childhood trauma, and we are looking at what those capacities look like when they are still running as raw survival responses and what they become when the person does the deep personal work of healing trauma to understand and direct them wisely. The four superpowers we cover this week:Hypervigilance as Elite Threat DetectionPeople Reading as Precision IntelligenceCrisis Tolerance as Operational MasteryLoad Bearing as Extraordinary EnduranceThis is not a consolation prize for a difficult childhood. This is grounded in peer-reviewed research and lived experience, and it is worth understanding.Important note: these capacities are not exclusive to people who experienced early childhood trauma. Anyone can develop them. What is particular to those who experienced early childhood trauma is the developmental pathway, and the age at which it began. The Friday Deep Dive newsletter, which goes out exclusively to Get Up and Grow members every week, goes considerably deeper into the research and includes the personal stories behind each of these four superpowers. Join the membership at getupandgrow.co.za for $13 a month. The April Masterclass runs on 29 April, exclusively for members. If you are ready to move from understanding these patterns to doing the work that transforms them, the Masterclass is where that process lives.Timestamps:00:04 Introduction04:13 The Research05:24 Hypervigilance as Elite Threat Detection06:46 People Reading as Precision Intelligence08:09 Crisis Tolerance as Operational Mastery09:24 Load Bearing as Extraordinary Endurance11:20 For Members12:41 Next Week13:19 Closing#SintaEbersohn #GetUpAndGrow #ChildhoodTrauma #PostTraumaticGrowth #TraumaHealing========== ========== ==========Watch the Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQbu0IBqRC0========== ========== ==========Join my Get Up and Grow online community for more resources and support in building resilience and achieving post-traumatic growth at https://getupandgrow.co.za/========== ========== ==========Learn more about me and my work at https://sintaebersohn.co.za/========== ========== ==========Contact me directly via email at info@getupandgrow.co.za========== ========== ==========Don't forget to like, subscribe and hit the notification bell for more insightful videos on mental health and wellness.========== ========== ==========Follow Me:https://www.facebook.com/sinta.ebersohnhttps://www.instagram.com/sintaebersohn/https://twitter.com/SintaEbersohnhttps://za.pinterest.com/sebersohn/https://www.tiktok.com/@sintaebersohnhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/sinta-ebersohn-1b01434b/

The Fighter Who Kept Losing the Battle that Mattered Most

The Fighter Who Kept Losing the Battle that Mattered Most: This week I am sharing one of the more layered parts of my personal story. The part that sits at the intersection of how childhood trauma shapes the way we fight in our closest relationships, why the people we love most so often bear the weight of everything we have never fully resolved, and what the long, honest work of understanding and changing those patterns actually looks like. This is not a before-and-after story. It is a thread in a lifelong process of learning, personal work and growing self-awareness that I continue today. I share it because these patterns are far more common than most people realise, and because seeing them clearly is the beginning of being able to do something different.Chapters:00:04 Introduction01:48 My Story04:52 Research06:32 Another Connection08:32 More Story11:44 The Full Circle12:58 The Newsletter14:09 More Research15:39 An Invitation16:28 The Masterclass16:58 Next Week17:43 ConclusionThe full story, the research behind it and the complete Get Up and Grow process applied to this aspect of my life are in this week's Friday Deep Dive newsletter, exclusively for members.
