Katie AKA "Runner_Girl81" shares about the biggest stresses and joys of being a registered nurse, what inspires her to stay active through running and other exercise, the biggest physical goal she has accomplished, what motivates her to do good in the world, and how faith plays a role in creating a sense of belonging for others. Katie has been a Registered Nurse for 21 years and counting! She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and in Nursing. Her first nursing job was on a Medical Telemetry floor for around 16 months. She moved back home and worked at her local hospital for 12.5 years on a StepDown unit, before transferring to our Same Day Surgery/Endoscopy unit, where she's worked since 2017. She have been married to her husband, since 2005. They have three children, Being a mother is the absolute highlight of her life and her children are her world. Katie began running in the 5th grade when she joined their Elementary track team. She played Volleyball and Basketball as well, but continued running as her favorite form of fitness throughout her life. She has ran 6 Half Marathon races, but remains content running on her treadmill these days. She believes in kindness, inclusiveness and positivity, as well, as practicing gratitude as a way of daily life. She tries to make her X page an example of these ideals.

    This episode's guest is Becky Castle Miller, a PhD student at Wheaton College studying New Testament with Esau McCaulley. Her dissertation research is about emotions in the Gospel of Luke. She writes and speaks on emotional, mental, and spiritual health in the church. She graduated from Northern Seminary where she studied with Scot McKnight. Her discipleship workbook with Dr. McKnight is called Following King Jesus. She and her husband and their five kids and cat returned to the US in 2020 after living in the Netherlands for eight years, where she served as discipleship director at an international church.     Katie Stewart is a secondary school teacher in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. She lives with her husband and four-year-old daughter in Ontario, Canada. Katie was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida. She is a firm believer in the possAbilities in life! Katie has just embarked on an exciting new venture, with the creation of PossAbilities Redefined, where she shares her unique personal life experience through writing and guest speaking. Katie aspires to become a published author and is working on her first book.
