    As We Forgive

This sermon centers on the critical link between forgiveness and a healthy spiritual life, especially in the context of prayer. Drawing from Hebrews 12 and Jesus' teachings in Matthew 6, the message emphasizes that effective prayer is deeply connected to our willingness to forgive others. The Lord's Prayer is highlighted as a model that ties together God's forgiveness and our need to extend forgiveness ourselves. A key theme that emerged is that unforgiveness acts as a barrier, not only affecting relationships with others but also hindering closeness with God and the power of prayer. The discussion explored the destructive nature of harboring bitterness, referencing both scriptural passages and practical wisdom—unforgiveness is compared to "drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." Bitterness, left unchecked, is said to rob believers of joy, peace, and spiritual vitality. Several points were raised, including the recognition that forgiveness is challenging and often a process rather than a one-time act. The sermon calls for honesty about pain and acknowledges the difficulty of forgiving deep wounds, calling upon the support of prayer, church community, and God's healing grace. Ultimately, the message is that forgiveness is not about excusing wrongdoing but about trusting Jesus with our pain and freeing ourselves from bitterness. The congregation is invited to pause, reflect, and seek God's help in forgiving, thereby removing barriers to prayer and deepening their relationship with God.

Standing in the Steadfast Love of God

In this sermon, the focus is on finding assurance and stability in God's steadfast love during difficult seasons. The conversation centered on times when faith feels hard—when prayers seem unanswered or God feels distant. Using Psalm 63 as a foundation, the discussion explored David's experience in the wilderness, highlighting how, amid loss and betrayal, David didn't blame God but instead expressed deep longing and trust, saying, "O God, you are my God," and seeking God with his whole being. One concept discussed was the importance of building a strong relationship with God in both good and bad times, so that faith remains unshaken when trials come. A key theme that emerged was the difference between struggling against God and resting in Him: Jacob wrestled with God, seeking more blessings, while David clung to God with open hands and a trusting heart, illustrating that faith is not about resisting God but receiving His love. The discussion emphasized that church should be a place for a genuine encounter with God—an opportunity to be reminded of His faithful, covenant love. Believers were reminded that God's presence is with them everywhere, not only in a physical sanctuary. The sermon concluded with a testimony of personal renewal, describing how worship and the affirmation of God's love restored hope during a time of despair. The message encouraged Christians to embrace God's steadfast love, trust Him in every season, and respond with heartfelt worship and praise.
