    Tampopo

    In this episode Becky and I talk about the 1985 Japanese comedy, Tampopo. Directed by Jûzô Itami this film is all about Ramen! And hoo boy will this one make you hungry.  We talk about the various traditions that pertain to the art of making the perfect bowl of Ramen, how true expertise can come from unexpected places, and how food can make great sex toys! 😳 Get yourself some warm Saké, some Top Ramen flavored Pop Secret and let this unique film tickle your funny bone!

  2. Season 1, Episode 4 Trailer

    Warm Saké and Ramen Flavored Popcorn

    In this episode Becky and I introduce our next film (a wild one!) and share our latest themed snack and drink pairing. This time we came up with several options for a Ramen flavored popcorn. For the drink, if you are feeling brave, try mixing the ends of any open bottles of Saké you have in your bar! But for the less adventurous just a bit of warmed Saké will do. For the Popcorn either -  A: grab a pouch of PopSecret, ransack a pack of Top Ramen for it's flavor pack and toss with the cooked popcorn and a tablespoon of sesame oil!  or B: Crush up 1 bullion cube of your choice, add 1/2 of it and 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, 2 tablespoons of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of crushed black pepper and 1 tablespoon of ginger powder. Pop 1/4 cup of popcorn in 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Toss the seasoning mix with the popped popcorn then sprinkle on a dusting of Nuri flakes. Enjoy!

    Big Night

    On our third episode Becky and I are talking about the '90s comedic drama Big Night. Co-Written and Co-Directed by Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott. Starring Stanley Tucci, Tony Shalhoub, Ian Holm (R.I.P.), Marc Anthony, Minnie Driver, Isabella Rossellini, Allison Janney, Campbell Scott, and Liev Schreiber.  Join us as we talk about fake Italian accents, dreamers and their relationship to financial success, and the absence of Mrs. Pesto or what dark secret truth lies beneath the Wonder Wharf. Also my first feature as an Editor, Lorelei, staring Pablo Schreiber and Jena Malone opens to a limited theatrical run and V.O.D. on July 30th.   4. Season 1, Episode 3 Trailer

    A Paradiso Americano and Pascal's Italian Popcorn

    In this episode Becky introduces the film for next week and suggests a really tasty cocktail to go with it. The Paradiso Americano. And trust me it is really damn good! In a tumbler with rocks add 1 and 1/2 oz red vermouth, 1 and 1/2 oz of Cynar and shake. Pour into a rocks glass with a splash of soda and garnish with an orange twist! For my contribution for this film I have Pascal’s Italian Popcorn! Sauté 3 cloves of diced garlic and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of ground Italian seasoning in 2 tablespoons of olive oil until aromatic. Pop 1/4 cup of popcorn in 1/4 cup of olive oil. Toss garlic oil onto popcorn and top with shaved Parmesan cheese. Maybe some chopped parsley if you are feeling fancy.

    The Witches of Eastwick

    In this episode Becky and I cover the George Miller classic The Witches of Eastwick. Starring Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jack Nicholson. With Richard Jenkins and (drumroll please) Veronica Cartwright! In the episode we talk about the art of seduction, the nature of the devil's one size fits all member, and... cherry pits. So make yourself a pitcher of Sweet Pickle Gibson, grab a big ole tin of multi-flavored popcorn and cozy up next to the fireplace. But remember, never trust wealthy strangers from out of town. Special guest appearance by Socrates the pup. #socratesthepup

  6. Season 1, Episode 2 Trailer

    A Sweet Pickle Gibson and a Tin of Tri-Flavored Popcorn

    In this episode we announce the second film we will be covering in one week's time. We also bring you this films snack pairing suggestions. Make yourself a Vodka Gibson, but hold the onions cause for this film we need you to put a whole sweet pickle gherkin into your martini glass! Then get yourself a tin of tri-flavored popcorn. They got buttered popcorn. They got caramel-corn. And of course the finger lickin' good, florescent orange, cheese popcorn! There is also a devilish third suggestion for those adventurous eaters who, like the character's from the film, live on the dangerous side of life.  A Modified Vodka Gibson: Pour 2 1/2 ounces of vodka into a shaker with ice, add 1/2 ounce dry vermouth. Shake till cold. Pour into a martini glass being sure to strain the ice and for the magic touch garnish with 1 baby sweet pickle!     On the first episode Becky and I are discussing Guillermo del Toro's 2006 masterpiece Pan's Labyrinth. We talk about powerful men having lavish feasts while regular citizens starve. A surefire recipe for turning a mandrake root into a Homunculus. And the importance of pairing knives!

    Manchego popcorn and Tempranillo!

    In the tradition of My Dinner With Andre comes My Podcast With Becky! In this inaugural episode Becky and I announce the film we will be covering in an episode coming in one week plus we make a snack and beverage pairing suggestion for you to enjoy while you watch the film! Cook 1/2 a cup of popcorn kernels in 1/4 cup Avocado Oil until popped. While hot toss the popcorn in 2/3 of a cup of finely grated Manchego cheese, 3/4 of a teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1/2 a teaspoon of finely ground black pepper, and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt. Pair with a glass of Tempranillo wine.
