FABULOUS AFTER FIFTY! EPISODE 197 – Veronique Ory – When movement becomes listening and not punishment

Today we welcome Veronique Ory, whose life seems far from boring. She ran her own theatre company for 17 years, posing as a pretend vegetarian, always on the cusp of almost broke, riding the roller coaster of ups and downs until she discovered more or less by chance yoga and as she said: That moment cracked something open in me. The physical practice became my gateway — shifting me from intimidation into inspiration, from starving artist survival mode into empowerment. FABULOUS AFTER FIFTY! EPISODE 194 – Kate Kayaian – Trading Applause for Purpose

Today we talk about bravery and the courage to pivot, even at the height of success if something feels off. An episode full of wisdom and practical tips and a fascinating personal story: BIO I spent years as a professional concert cellist performing with Grammy Award–winning ensembles, only to discover that even a dream career can leave you asking deeper questions about identity, purpose, and what comes next. During the Covid lockdown, I used the pause to rethink my path and pivot into leadership and entrepreneurial roles, eventually becoming a coach, writer, speaker, and president of a nonprofit arts organization. That experience led me to the work I do today. I’m the author of Beyond Potential and the host of the Tales from The Lane podcast, where I explore what happens when high-achieving professionals reach a point where success no longer feels fully aligned. Through my coaching and writing, I help thoughtful leaders reassess their identity, redefine success, and move into their next chapter with clarity and purpose. I especially enjoy conversations with leadership, career, and personal development podcasts whose audiences are thoughtful professionals navigating midlife transitions. Today’s conversation is one that I think every grandparent, every parent, and every person who cares about the next generation needs to hear. We live in a world drowning in information and starving for wisdom. The most powerful thing a young person can have I believe is not a smartphone, not a tablet, and not a Wi-Fi connection. It is a trusted adult who tells them the truth, teaches them to think, and passes on the values that no screen ever could. Enter Barbara Ann, creator of the beloved Little Miss History children’s book series . She provides tools to inspire, entertain and educate youth and sees History as the key to solving today’s problems BIO Barbara Ann Mojica, M.A. S.A.S., S.D.A is a historian and retired educator. Her education career spans more than forty years serving as a teacher, special educator, principal, and school district administrator.
