Did a Pastor Really Say Jesus Would Bless Abortion? Reacting to a Dangerous Pulpit Claim | Bible, Bros & Brew

A clergy woman claimed that if Jesus were preaching the Sermon on the Mount today, he might also say "blessed are those who end pregnancies." David McIntyre, Phillip Rich, and Jon Dzyuba push back — not with condemnation, but with Scripture. Psalm 139:13–16 says God knit each person together in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says God knew Jeremiah before he was formed. John 10:10 says Jesus came that we might have life. Asserting what Jesus "would have said" isn't interpretation. It's invention.   Week 6 of the BBB Reacts series opens with a clip that stopped David and Phil cold: a clergy woman confidently claiming that if Jesus were giving the Sermon on the Mount today, he might add "blessed are those who end pregnancies." Before anything else, David offers a clear pastoral disclaimer — nobody here is judging anyone who has been in that situation. Then they go to work on what Scripture actually says.     Josh McIntyre joins live to add his voice. Together the guys connect the dots between the dehumanization of the unborn and the same historical playbook used to justify slavery and the Holocaust — citing Voltaire's famous warning about absurdities and atrocities. They discuss Margaret Sanger, the cost of adoption, Planned Parenthood's placement in Black communities, and land where they always do: broken people need a Savior, and the only one who can put the pieces back together is Christ.     And yes — What's in the Cup? Jon went with banana split coffee from Good & Gather. Phillip showed up with Charleston Coffee Roasters Organic Charleston Whole Bean (and a full travelogue of Charleston, South Carolina). David brought fall energy with Autumn Delight from Red Barn.     Scriptures referenced: Psalm 139 verses 13 through 16 · Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 · John chapter 10 verse 10 · Ezekiel chapter 18 verse 32 · Psalm 127 verse 3 · Proverbs chapter 17 verse 6 · Luke chapter 1 verse 14 · Galatians chapter 5 · Matthew chapter 21 verse 44     Hosted by David McIntyre, Phillip Rich, and Jon Dzyuba. Guest: Josh McIntyre.  Where the Word Meets the Daily Grind. | biblebrosbrew.com   Q: What does the Bible say about life in the womb?  A: Psalm 139 verses 13 through 16 describes God forming, knitting, and seeing every person in the womb — even at the stage of "unformed substance." Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 says God knew Jeremiah before he was even formed. David reads through these passages in full during the episode.  Q: Is it dangerous when pastors say what Jesus "would" say today?  A: David argues yes — there's a meaningful difference between interpreting what Scripture says and inventing what Jesus would add to it. Using the authority of Jesus to validate a modern position that contradicts his recorded words is, at best, error. At worst, it leads people away from truth.  #BibleBrosAndBrew #BBBPodcast #ChristianPodcast #BibleStudy #AbortionAndTheBible #FaithPodcast #ScriptureBreakdown #RealFaithRealTalk  gotbrew@biblebros.net

Did Your Favorite Christian Artist Lie to You? A TikTok Reaction | Bible, Bros & Brew

When Christian artists publicly deconstruct their faith or reverse the values their music once proclaimed, listeners are left asking a real question: were they ever telling the truth? In this episode of Bible, Bros & Brew, David McIntyre, Phillip Rich, and Jon Dzyuba react to Avalon's "Testify to Love" being rerecorded with a gay choir, examine the wave of faith deconstruction among Christian artists, and ground the conversation in Colossians 3, verse 15 — letting the peace of Christ act as an umpire for what we consume.  In this episode, David McIntyre and Phillip Rich react to the Avalon controversy — a member of the beloved Christian group has come out as gay, gotten married, and rerecorded "Testify to Love" with a gay choir — and use that story as a window into the broader pattern of faith deconstruction among high-profile Christian artists. Kevin Max and Michael Tait from DC Talk, Amy Grant, Gungor, Plumb, and Joshua Harris all come up in a conversation that's honest, warm, and grounded in Scripture rather than culture war.  Philip brings Colossians 3, verse 15 to anchor the discussion — "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts" — and the guys apply it as a practical filter for what you listen to and who you trust with your spiritual formation. They also give a fresh list of artists who are doing it right: Forest Frank, Jonathan Ogden, Josh Garrels, Victory Boyd, Sunday, NF, Jason Nelson, Hulvey, and more.  Hosts: David McIntyre and Phillip Rich | Producer: Jon Dzyuba Find I'm Over It, the new 14-day devotional, at BibleBrosBrew.com/merch  Where the Word Meets the Daily Grind.  gotbrew@biblebros.net

Why Are People Really Leaving the Church? (The Answer Will Surprise You) | Bible, Bros & Brew

According to the Public Religion Research Institute and Pew Research, the number one reason people leave the church — cited by 51–67% of respondents — is that they simply stopped believing. Hosts David McIntyre and Phillip Rich of Bible, Bros & Brew argue this is not a programming problem. It's a roots problem — what happens when faith isn't built on consistent, personal engagement with Scripture.  In this episode, David McIntyre and Phillip Rich react to two videos presenting survey data on why people are walking away from the church. They explore what the Bible says about shallow versus rooted faith, drawing from the Parable of the Sower in Matthew chapter 13, Romans chapter 10 verse 17, and Jesus' challenge to "do the work of believing" in John chapter 6 verses 26 through 29. They also address the role of parents in faith formation, the danger of Sunday-only Christianity, and how to respond when hypocrisy in the church shakes your faith.  Mini FAQ  Q: What is the number one reason people leave the church?  A: Both PRRI and Pew Research independently found it's that people stopped believing — not dissatisfaction with programs or leadership.  Q: How do you build faith that actually lasts?  A: Romans chapter 10 verse 17 says faith comes by hearing the Word of God. David and Phillip argue that daily, personal engagement with Scripture — not church attendance alone — is what produces lasting belief.  Q: What should parents do to keep their kids in the faith?  A: David and Phillip share from their own experience that intentional, daily family devotion time — and refusing to outsource spiritual formation to the church alone — is what anchors children in genuine faith.  Call to Action  📖 I'm Over It 14-Day Devotional — available now at BibleBrosBrew.com and on Amazon 🌐 BibleBrosBrew.com ·  📧 gotbrew@biblebrosbrew.com Where the Word Meets the Daily Grind.  Hosted by David McIntyre and Phillip Rich.  gotbrew@biblebros.net

React Series: Is Jesus Metaphysical? What the Word Actually Says About John 14:6 | Bible, Bros & Brew

In this episode of Bible, Bros & Brew, Dave, Phil, and John continue their React series by responding to a WOKE preacher who claims John 14:6 — "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" — should be interpreted metaphysically rather than literally. The guys break down the full context of John 14, cross-reference Matthew 10, Matthew 7, and Romans 10, and expose how half-truths and loose theology lead believers — and seekers — away from the clear message of Scripture.    They also unpack what happens when Christianity becomes so "inclusive" it stops being Christianity, why the Bereans are still the standard for every believer, and why knowing the Word is your best defense against deception.    ☕ What's in the Cup: Phil brings Peregrine Gold's Colombia Thermal Shock (fruit-forward, phenomenal), Dave finally admits the Mocha Turtle from Sam's Club slaps, and John keeps it simple with Black Rifle Blackbeard's Delight after a rough week.    Scriptures Referenced: John 14:1-6 | John 10:9 | Matthew 10:34-39 | Matthew 7:21-23 | Romans 10 | Matthew 5:18 | 2 Peter 1:20-21 | Acts 17 (The Bereans)    New episodes every Monday at 6AM. There Is No Spiritual Maturity Without Love | 1 Corinthians 13 | Bible, Bros & Brew

What does a spiritually mature Christian actually look like? The Bros have spent weeks unpacking the signs of spiritual immaturity — and now they’re flipping the script. In this episode, David, Phil, and Jon dig into one of the most quoted yet most misunderstood passages in Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:1–8. Real, biblical love is patient, sacrificial, not self-seeking — and it’s one of the most powerful weapons in a believer’s arsenal. If you’ve ever said “I just don’t love them anymore,” or wondered why God doesn’t just force people to do the right thing, this episode is going to hit different. The Immature Christian: What Spiritual Maturity REALLY Looks Like | Bible, Bros & Brew

Let’s be honest — nobody wants to think of themselves as spiritually immature. But what if you’ve been saved for years and you’re still sitting in the same place you started? No growth. No depth. Just… stuck. The writer of Hebrews had some pretty pointed things to say about that situation nearly 2,000 years ago, and spoiler alert — it wasn’t a compliment.  In this episode, David, Jon, and Phil pick up right where they left off in the Immaturity series and get into the real meat of what spiritual maturity actually looks like — and more importantly, what’s keeping so many believers from ever getting there. We’re talking Hebrews 5, James 2, Ephesians 4, and a whole lot of real talk in between.  Here’s what we’re chopping up this week — the difference between drinking milk and eating solid food in your walk with God, why being a hearer of the Word without being a doer is basically spiritual self-deception, how faith without works isn’t just weak — it’s dead, the very real danger of getting tossed around by every wind of doctrine and the latest Christian trend, and why drawing near to God consistently is the only move that actually produces lasting growth.  No gimmicks. No fluff. Just the Word, some good brew, and three guys who’ve been in this walk long enough to keep it all the way real with you. Grab your Bible, your notebook, and something good to sip on — this one’s worth your full attention. ☕📖  🎙️ New episodes weekly. Subscribe and grow with us. gotbrew@biblebros.net
