    002 Hannah Stodel Inspirational Sailor

    On this episode of Inclusive Sport, I welcome Hannah Stodel. 4x Paralympian  Triple World Champion  17 World Cup Gold Medals  First, disabled sailor to sail non-stop around Britain and Irland BT YJA Young sailor of the year 1998  Youngest ever sailor in the Paralympic games  Slingsby ladies day winner 2016  Yachtmaster of the year 2017  At 14 years old Hannah saw Paralympic sailing as a weaker option to her career, having been successfully racing on the able-bodied circuit all over the world. Already a world champion in her own right, 1999 offered a life changing decision thanks to Atlanta gold medallist, Andy Cassells- the Paralympics or the Olympics? Andy offered her the chance to train with him in the run-up to the Sydney Paralympic games, and the rest, as they say, is history!  16 years, 4 Paralympic Games and multiple world championships later, and Hannah is now ready to take on her “Everest of the seas”, the vendee globe round the world race.     001 Danny Crates Inclusive Return To Sport After Losing His Right Arm.

    On this episode of Inclusive Sport, I welcome Danny Crates.  TV Presenter - Speaker - Event host – Executive coach Paralympic icon and former world record holder Danny Crates is widely considered one of the greatest British disability athletes of all time.  After losing his right arm in a horrific accident in 1994 at just 21 years old, Danny was determined to overcome this huge hurdle in his life, focusing on the future and regaining his positive attitude. With utter determination, Danny found his way back onto the rugby field within 6 months and shortly after into Paralympic sport, quickly dominating and famously winning gold in the men’s 800 metres T46 final at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, a year which also saw him set a new world record.  It was the highlight of a 12-year glittering career that saw Danny win every major title in the sport, including the World Championships, European Championships and Paralympic World Cup.  With Danny, I explore that first 6 months returning to rugby and then athletics, looking how the inclusive attitude of Danny fellow rugby players and coaches alongside his athletic coaches and fellow runners, helped Danny return to full fitness in an environment he knew and loved. Since retiring from international athletics, Danny continues to build on his reputation as a leading speaker in the world of business and sport, delivering keynote presentations around the world which saw him voted in the top 5 speakers globally in 2015 from a list of over 1300.   His presentations leave audience’s motivated and inspired to achieve their goals and targets, both personally and within business.  A master storyteller – Danny’s 19-year corporate speaker experience shines through. He is dynamic and presents with warmth and humour, quickly captivating his audience.
