THEME : Lord, Open My Eyes: Overcoming Spiritual Blindness MINISTER : Elder Henry Kweteye TEXT : 2 Corinthians 4:4 The greatest battle we face is not always physical—it is spiritual. One of the enemy’s strongest weapons is spiritual blindness. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that “the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” This is why we must live by faith. Faith enables us to see beyond what our natural eyes can perceive. It helps us recognize God’s goodness, His promises, and His purpose for our lives. As parents, we must be intentional in praying for our children. Sometimes a child may seem rebellious or unwilling to listen. It is easy to become frustrated and speak negative words over them. But instead of cursing our children, let us bless them in prayer. Many times, the issue is not that they are beyond help—their minds have been clouded by the enemy. When the devil blinds a person’s mind, no amount of reasoning or advice alone can convince them until God opens their eyes. Today, we declare that every veil covering our children, our families, and our lives is removed in the mighty name of Jesus. Every work of darkness that has hidden God’s truth and purpose will be exposed. May the light of Christ shine into every heart. As believers, we have been given authority through Jesus Christ. We must rise in prayer and wage spiritual warfare. Every stronghold, every chain, and every deception of the enemy must be pulled down through the power of God. The devil uses blindness to keep people away from their God-given destiny, but Christ came to bring light and liberty. Physical blindness is painful, but spiritual blindness is even more dangerous. A person may have healthy physical eyes and yet remain spiritually blind. You may be active in church, know many Scriptures, and even pray regularly, yet still fail to recognize what God is doing because your spiritual eyes are closed. Spiritual blindness prevents us from recognizing God’s hand, discerning His voice, and walking in His perfect will. It causes people to reject the very blessings God has prepared for them. It robs them of favor, purpose, and destiny. Sadly, spiritual blindness can also exist within the church. Not everyone who attends church truly sees God. Some come only because they need a miracle, a breakthrough, or provision. While God certainly meets our needs, our greatest pursuit should always be God Himself. We must seek His presence more than His gifts. When we find Him, everything else falls into place. As young people, we must develop a genuine hunger for God. We should long for His presence, His Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. A generation that seeks God wholeheartedly is a generation that cannot be easily deceived by the enemy. Prayer remains our greatest weapon. Every yoke can be broken through prayer. Every veil can be removed. Every chain of spiritual blindness can be destroyed by the power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord open our eyes to behold His goodness, walk in His truth, and experience the fullness of His glory. Amen.
