Hey this is Larry. I'm getting my pod-cast going. I don't know where I'll go with it, but I've been talking about it so now I'm doing it. I'll focus on topics associated with a few things important to me: Mental Health, Routine, Fitness, DIY project, current Affairs, some History, and my constantly evolving / sometimes expensive interests. Lets get to it.

    The Best Men; Suicide Awareness

    This is a one off, but I couldn't resist. I had to talk about it. Suicide is hard on everyone. If it's on your mind, hit me up. We've all been there.  Talk to your friends. Keep a look out for the signs. If someone says the world might be better off with out them, assure them it wouldn't be. This isn't a time for criticism, these people need us. No soldier left behind doesn't end on the battlefield. Check your buddy.  -Larry Contrary

    ROUTINE: ADHD & STRUCTURE

    Routines are not easy.  Especially with ADHD. Our bodies thrive on structure. If we can find the consistencies in our behavior and environment, we'll be able to unlock unbelievable clarity in our life.

    MEDICATED: ADHD LMNOP; THIS ONES FOR EVERYBODY

    Maybe this was something everyone knew but me.  When we start taking a new medication it's important that we try to remain as neutral as possible. Avoid sugars, caffeine, alcohol, etc. for a few weeks. I know it isn't ideal. Adding supplements which alter the effect of the drug will not permit us to get a true assessment of the medication's intended effect. Doing otherwise could result in a lot of headache and repetitious treatment variations.

    MY DIAGNOSIS: CHILD & ADULT ADHD

    I've been tested numerous times throughout my life.  Testing is rarely fun but it's part of it and it's essential. If you're having struggles in life which have you considering reaching out for support, expect to dace some scrutiny. Don't be alarmed or discouraged. Get some real answers so you can develop the most efficient version of you.

    What is ADHD? Why does it matter?

    This is a new season.  I'll be discussing living with ADHD and all things considered. If you are/know someone with ADD/ADHD, her me out.  I am not a pro. This is not Self Help.     Truth about PTSD; Combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and EMDR

    PTSD; C-PTSD; EMDR  It's a Saturday morning and I'm getting deep into my feels with a conversation about living with PTSD and going through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  My therapist ran me through some EMDR trials yesterday and I'm definitely feeling it.     TRANSPHOBES, HOMOPHOBES, XENOPHOBES, & PHOBAPHOBES

    Real talk, it isn't cool to call people names. I get that you're upset. The problem with it, is when you call someone an anything-aphobe, it perpetuates the stigma in mental health. For there are people who have actual phobias who have a very difficult time in life. I'm sure your intentions are well.     Intro S1E1

    FIRST PODCAST!  I've done it. I've reached Dad- status. My name's Larry and I'm a Father, Husband, and a generally really down to earth person... Totally kidding.  This is my introduction to the future state of this podcast. My over-all intent is to reach normal guys and talk about some of the things I struggle with, like ADD and PTSD in a competitive global job-market. I am not a life coach. I am not original; who is anymore? I like to think I'm quirky enough to be mildly entertaining while closing a gap in the dialogue about stigmas as they relate to mental health.  It isn't all boring life hacks and pro-tips. Sometimes I might take you on a fun journey of non-sequential pontification with no particular strategy. Welcome to ADD. I don't wear ADD as a badge for attention. This is real shit affecting real people and so many around them.
