    Hair, Skin, and Nail Analysis: Practice Test Pt.2

    Welcome to Episode 12 of the Stateboard study series, and in this episode I am going over another Quiz. This quiz is more centered on Hair, Skin, and Nail Analysis. I got a 95% on this practice test, so I only missed one question out of 20. I hope you learn, enjoy, and use this to get an idea for what to expect on your Stateboard written exam. These practice tests are based on the written exam for Cosmetology in the state of California, however, if your state is contracted with PSI then it should still help you as well.     Practice Cosmetology Test Exam Pt.1

    I purchased practice tests for the California State Written Exam through whom the state is contracted with now. PSI Exams, and in this episode I am going over 20 questions of one practice test. I missed 1 question and got 95% on the test which in this episode is part of the Safety and Infection Control. I do state in this episode, that I don’t believe students need to spend extra money to practice for your Stateboard test. The truth is you have everything you need? However, if you do spend extra money PSI does not disappoint. The website when you take the tests tell you the percentage of who answered each option for your answers, it also tells you how long it took you to answer each question, and it also tells you which subjects you need a little more work on. I’m not encouraging you spend extra money, but if you do? You might as well go through the website that your actual state exam is contracted with.     Temporary Hair Removal (Shaving, Tweezing, and Depilatory’s)

    I am talking about the temporary ways of removing hair, this is in continuance of the Stateboard Study Series. We are centering in on Shaving, Tweezing, and using Depilatory’s, and a short quiz at the end of this episode. I hope these episodes help enhance your studies for your test at Stateboard, and it helps you to pass. I can never guarantee that it will, but I believe it will help with of course you studying your text, and your exam book, and flashcards. This is the purpose, so if you feel like this is really helping you? Then like , share with someone who is considering going to cosmetology school, and/or may be getting ready for their test.     Hair Removal (Waxing)

    In this episode for Stateboard Study Series, I’m talking about Wax, what it is, where you can apply it, the difference between Hard Wax / Soft Wax. What your consultation should entail as far as what questions you should be asking, having your client fill out an intake form so that you have proper records of their last service in case you are no longer there, or if that client reacts to something. Also, the actual procedure to how to wax according to knowing for Stateboard, but also it’s how you should wax.     Nerves and Glands of the skin:

    Continuing and finishing the skin structure and growth of the Stateboard Study Series. This is all part of the skin portion to help prepare you for the Stateboard licensing exam. Now here’s the thing and I say this in my podcast, if you are in another state that does the NIC testing, or CIB this may be of some assistance to you for your written test at least. This should be used as an Aid to your studies. Some people learn from hearing (Audio) Learners, but I do encourage you to review your little exam book, as well as your text book, though this goes hand in hand with it. I’m using the latest version of the Milady Textbook, however, those of you who are learning from Pivot Point, the information is the same, just presented differently. With School, your studying sessions, along with this Podcast, you should be on the right track to getting your license. I hope this will help you, and please share with others who may be struggling with their test, or they are getting ready to test.     Layers and Function of the Skin

This is in the Skin Structure and Growth chapter, and I am talking about the Function of the skin as well as the Layers of the skin, breaking down each layer within the layers, and following up with some questions at the end.     Basic Facial (Stateboard Study Series)

    Episode 6 part of the Stateboard Study Series where I am talking about the steps to a Basic Facial that you may need to know for your Stateboard written test. In the past, I have tutored students who may not have passed, and this is one way that I stay current in knowing what questions may be asked, and this contributes to what I share with people on what to study for their cosmetology state licensing exam. In this episode, I am also telling you the five basic massage techniques, and starting off going through products that are used for the facials.     Levels of Decontamination (Stateboard Study Series)

    Continuing on with Stateboard Study Series, and what you should be studying for if you haven’t taken your exam yet. This episode we are talking about the differences between cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization, also I am talking about bacteria, what they are, the groups you need to know, their shapes, and what they are responsible for causing. I am also talking about the disinfectants that you need to know, the protocol for cleaning and disinfecting foot baths in the salons, and the agencies that you need to know for your exam for state licensing.
