    Gender Based Violence (GBV)- A girl child's experience growing up in a GBV environment.

    Gender Based Violence (GBV) does not only affect the victim, it certainly has severe effects on those in the same environment.  Often, violence is perceived from the woman's pain, rarely are the children of the couple considered. In this episode, we talk to a young lady who grew up in a GBV environment, and how the environment affected how she carried herself; the journey she took to grow through the pain that the GBV environment inflicted into her life.     Our journey back to self with Thea Khama

    Thea Khama Different circumstances push us out of our nests, and along the journey we pick up stones and rocks, dependent on our encounters. However, once we take our internal journeys, we let go of what does not serve us anymore (the pain, the bitterness, the anger) and surrender to allow the light that has always been within to radiate in and through us. In her memoire, Rough Diamond, Thea vulnerably shares how her internal journey separated her rough to be the diamond that she is today. Reading this book, not only did I feel I too was part of the journey, but it was a call to action for me to take my own journey too.     Our identities; our mirrors, are usually our savior's-The Game Changer with Rebaone Gola

    Absent fathers and secrets that our parents keep for the sake of 'peace' are huge causes of childhood trauma. Oftentimes, it is left to us the children, to overcome and heal from our parents decisions. What we have to go through to find our true identities often times requires us to face ourselves; especially when there was no great model in our upbringing. Rebaone Gola, the author of The Game Changer, talks about how his denial of self took him on a tangent he often times reflects on, and shocks himself with how far he has come. For Rebaone, his encounter with the Holy Spirit saved him from himself. We Lean-In as he openly sheds light on how his journey back to self was not a smooth ride.     Job VS Soul work: Mindfulness with Mother K Masire

    Mother K Masire, a mindfulness teacher and student, lean's-In to vulnerably share her journey to intentionally choose following her soul, and quit her financially stable 9-5 marketing  job. She vulnerably talks about the sacrifices she made, joyfully, to let go of what was not serving her soul anymore. For Mother K Masire, mindfulness; the mental state of being in the present moment, fed her soul, and became the truth to living her life fully. She found a way to make a living from her soul work. Through her great heart of servitude, she chooses to hold space for others to find their truth through mindfulness by teaching/sharing her tools, principles of being present in the now.     Rape: Imprisoned for a rape crime he did not commit

    Rape is a national crisis in Botswana. In 2020, rape cases hiked due to lockdowns and covid-19. However, for Peter Segogwane(not his real name) going to prison for rape- a crime he did not commit- was the most devastating life experience. Due to lack of support, Peter ended up spending 10 years in prison, for the rape crime he did not commit. He Lean's-In to share how spending a decade in prison continues to jeopardise opportunities for him, how society shames him and how he continues to face his fears, daily. Ladies, this episode broke my heart several times; as difficult as it, economically, may we please not ruin our brothers' lives in the process of wanting better for ourselves. Let's Lean-In with this gentleman, and be aware of how our actions affect the next person. Lean-In!
