    SE 06 EP 134 : The drunken Pagen - Festival Vibes

    This week on Three Witches and a Druid, we are so thrilled to have Karen one again joining our favorite witches around the cozy breakfast table. That's righhhhhhht we get into the ole conversation every Pagan festival eventually has. Usually, somewhere between the bonfire, the drum circle, and someone passing around homemade mead. Because, as the saying goes… “Where two or more Pagans gather, there will be drinks.”  This episode is all about Pagan festival culture: the good, the complicated, the communal, and the conversations people don’t always want to have out loud. They are getting into the real questions surrounding alcohol, substances, smoking, spiritual experiences, and community expectations at Pagan gatherings: Can festivals still be safe family spaces while allowing adult freedoms? Is there a difference between community bonding and party culture? When does “letting loose” cross a line? Does drinking and imbibing spirits enhance connection and ritual… or pull people away from it? And so m much more! This isn’t a pearl-clutching lecture, and it’s definitely not a “what happens at fest stays at fest” glorification episode either. It’s a grounded, funny, thoughtful, and sometimes chaotic conversation about the reality of modern Pagan festivals and often tricky balancing act between freedom and responsibility, revelry and respect, spirituality and community care. Because lets face it, Pagan festivals aren’t Coachella… BUT they are spaces where humans gather to connect, celebrate, unwind, and sometimes wrestle with what healthy community actually looks like.     SE 06 EP 133 - Festival Feedback & keeping it real

    Yes, it's that time again! This week on Three Witches and a Druid, pull up a chair to the podcast table where the ( apparently 20 year old ) pear wine is flowing, and the conversation gets just a little bit unfiltered. Your hosts with the most are getting into the nitty-gritty… the stuff people don’t always want to say out loud about running a Pagan festival. Because behind the magic, the music, and the late-night fire circles, there’s a small, dedicated crew (mostly volunteers) doing their absolute best to make something beautiful happen with limited funds, limited resources, and a whole lot of heart. Feedback. We love it. We want it. We need it. But we’re also talking about what happens when ideas meet reality. Around the table this week, things get real about: Encouraging bold, creative ideas… while still asking “okay, but how do we actually make that happen?” Accessibility in a rugged, camping-based festival (This isn’t glamping my friends, there will be dirt!) Budget constraints, storage struggles, and the behind-the-scenes logistics nobody sees. Big, beautiful workshop requests! BUT keeping in mind the safety and inclusion standards that come with them The very real shortage of volunteers (and why that matters more than you think) How to honour people’s ideas, even when the answer has to be “not this year”. This is one of those episodes where we pull back the curtain, pour another glass, and trust you enough to share the real story.
