But when political violence forces them to flee to the isolated del Valle estate, Minerva quickly realizes the family drama may be the least terrifying thing hiding inside the house. Then we meet Ygnacio who is mysterious, ghostly, slightly unhinged, and somehow one of the most lovable parts of the entire book. In this episode, the girls unpack the messy del Valle family, Minerva’s complicated loyalties, the political conflict happening outside the estate, the supernatural mystery surrounding the house, and the slow-building relationship between Minerva and Ygnacio that had them fully invested.     Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker | he can’t remember where he put the body
