1Dime mixes history and contemporary issues, takes theory seriously without losing track of strategic thinking, and doesn’t get caught up in orthodoxy. All around a very solid show.

I think that, of all the political commentators that I follow, Tony most aligns with my own viewpoints,. His episodes are on the exact topics that interest me (catholic socialism, national-internationalism, christopher lasch, etc.), but it has been increasingly difficult to listen to this show because of how insanely long the episodes are. I am a patron because I believe in his work but find it a chore to get through up to 6 hours of content in one drop between the public and backroom episodes. The conversation meander sand many half-hours go by where it seems stuck in the mud, more the pretense of a dialogue than any actual interesting critique. If the exact same points could be distilled to max 1.5 hours per episode, I think this project would be a lot more impactful.

This podcast is constantly dividing the left against itself. We need more cheerleaders and fewer annoy academics applying ideological litmus tests.

Vivek Chibber, in a few sentences, exposed the feeble and faulty understanding of political economic reality of the host, who is better at LARPing as a lefty than being one. I’ll give it another listen if Gabriel Rockhill is invited.
