    Blazing Your Own Trail with X Games Medalist Megan Gunning

    It's a Girl Thing with Girlstylerz Founder Danika Mazur

    It's been a while BUT... we're back! On this episode of Hear Her ROAR we are joined by Danika Mazur (rhymes with laser!) the founder of Girlstylerz, a freestyle skiing initiative aimed at empowering girls and women within freestyle skiing and striving for equity within the sport. We delve into Danika's personal journey as a moguls athlete, her work as a freestyle coach and what led her to start the Girlstylerz program in BC. We also discuss the amazing work that the Girlstylerz initiative has been doing across Canada, provide some insight into why this project has become such an integral part of our community and talk about Danika hopes we can achieve as Girlstylerz continues to grow.     Tokyo 2020 Recap

    In this weeks episode of the Hear Her ROAR podcast we talk all things Olympics, recapping some of the historic moments at the Tokyo 2020 games and many of the controversial stories surrounding female competitors leading into and during the games. We discuss mental health, breast feeding,  pregnancy, bikini bottoms, legendary gold medal performances, 13 year olds doing cool shit and moments from the games which filled up with pure joy!  We also highlight Team GB's Sky Brown as a future female.     Anything is Possible with Hungarian Snowboarder Kamilla Kozuback

    And we're back! After a brief hiatus (so your lovely hosts could assure neither of them fails their final projects for school!) Hear Her ROAR is back and in this weeks episode we welcome our first guest from the snowboard community, Kamilla Kozuback. Kamilla was inspired to take up snowboarding by her mom, and has been hocked ever since. We discuss her progress through the sport, from learning to ride in Alberta to the Youth Olympic Games and hopefully one day soon representing Hungary at the Winter Olympic Games! She is one determined young lady! Kamilla is also a Type 1 diabetic, and the challenges she has faced as a result of this autoimmune disease have provided her with such a unique perspective on the world of competitive snowsports. She is an absolute inspiration and we cannot wait to see where her drive and passion for snowboarding take her next!     Dropping In with Canadian Slopestyle Queen Megan Oldham

    In this weeks episode of Hear Her ROAR we had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Megan Oldham. One of Sian's original girl squad, Megan joined the Canadian National Team in 2018, after a whirlwind introduction to competitive freestyle skiing, and she has since won the overall World Cup Championship in slopestyle and an X Games gold medal in big air! From her first backflip on snow to (hopefully!) representing Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, Megan talks to us about her rapid progression in the sport and the pivotal lessons she has learned along the way.  We also discuss the important things like favourite Disney princesses, 1920's fashion and the origins of her elusive nickname, MEGATRON!     Ready at the Top with Canadian Mogul Team Athlete Berkley Brown

    In todays episode of Hear Her ROAR we welcome our very first guest, Berkley Brown. We discuss her journey to the Canadian National Team, the set backs she has encountered along the way and the female friendships that have been integral to her continued development. We also play a lightening round to find more about the real Berkley.
