    Practical Steps for a Psychologically Safe Workplace by Barbara Gatumuta, Head of HR at AllPack Industries.

    In theory we do know organizations understand the importance of having a psychological safe and mental healthy  workplace. However, do you think this is prioritized practically? In this Podcast, we address organizational cultures and how that impacts the psychological health and safety of employees. We also answer the question on responsibility; Who's responsibility is to make a workplace psychologically safe? Is it just on leaders? Whether a workplace is hybrid, remote or has an office work model, this topic needs to be a priority pillar in all organizations.Our guest today is Barbara Gatumuta, a HR professional with over 14years working with different organizations. She values integrity, collaboration, fairness and the future of work. She is also passionate about employee wellbeing & wellness which led her to becoming a certified mental health Champion.Barbra takes us through how to enforce this very important mental health topic in the workplace. She tackles the risk factors of an unhealthy work place, characteristics of both a healthy/unhealthy workplace, factors to consider when creating a positive work environment as well as ways to improve psychological safety in the workplace.One tip Barbra shares is;  As HR, having leadership/managerial team buy into the idea of building a mentally healthy workplace should come first. Once leaders understand, it becomes easier to protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of everyone at the workplace.
