    What is UDL, Universal Design for Learning?

    Universal Design Learning is an innovative concept that seeks to improve the experience on campus for everyone, while addressing the needs of neurodiverse learners. In line with Vassar College’s commitment to seeking and developing new ways to maximize learning for its students, Moorhead Academic Coach Ethan Wasserman presents an introduction to the principles of UDL and the importance of understanding yourselves as a learner.

    The history of higher education is steeped in ableist policies, practices, and rhetoric. Jay Timothy Dolmage, Academic Ableism, shares with us the intertwined past of colleges and universities with asylums and schools for "idiots". Former academic coach Matthew Mueller offers insights and ideas about how the Vassar community can continue to become more aware of its own history with eugenics and euthenics to create a more inclusive and accessible space for all body-minds and all learners.
