On this show I watch and analyze seasons of show to analyze how reality TV influences culture and its audience, both by design and unintentionally.     This episode is about Lifetime’s junk picking and interior designing show, “Picker Sisters.” However, this seemingly non-offensive romp around the South may be more than meets the eye, or it might really just be what Lifetime thought a picking show aimed at women should be. I also read some IMDB reviews in this one that come from the internet’s greatest prose writers, and I reveal a big secret about the setup for this show that makes the entire thing fall apart.     It’s another Hilton endeavor this week on the pod, but with Kathy rather than Paris. “I Want to Be A Hilton” is a competition show from 2005 that put 14 contestants through a crash course in high society for the chance to earn a spot to live like the Hiltons. What can we learn about being a high society socialite from this show? Did this show exist just to help the image of the Hilton family?     It’s time to grind away at the rumor mill, this edition of The Recap Episode covers VH1’s 2008 docuseries “The Gossip Game,” which follows 7 women who work in hip hop media coverage in NYC- radio hosts, journalists, and bloggers. However, this show ended up held hostage by drama and conflicts which while entertaining, very much detracted from anything this show wanted to tell about these Black women working in these industries.
