We live in a world that is visibly broken, and it's tempting to shrug, look away, or settle into comfort. In this message, we look at why Scripture calls us to something very different. We begin with how people talk about judgment, from the casual "go to hell" to the ancient images of Sisyphus and Tantalus, and ask what our fascination with endless, unreachable punishment says about the human heart. Then we turn to what Jesus actually taught. Through Mark 9:43-48, Matthew 7, Luke 16, and John 5, we see how seriously He treated sin, stumbling, and eternal separation from God, and why He used such vivid language about the hand, the foot, and the eye. But the warning is never the whole story. Ezekiel 33:11, 2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16-17, and 1 Timothy 2 remind us that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He is patient, He desires all to be saved, and He sent His Son to rescue rather than condemn. We also explore how sight, the quickest path to lust, pulls us toward the world's cravings for excitement, possessions, illicit relationships, fame, and wealth, and what it means to guard our hearts. Our ministries are not an impressive display. They are a Gospel net through which God's love keeps flowing until people encounter the Son He gave.
