    The $88 mistake

Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with a simple idea that opens the door to a much bigger conversation: people are people, and life may be better when we stop treating every issue like a team sport. Brandon and Jesse explore the labels we place on ourselves and others. A label may help explain part of your experience, but it can also become a box—a reason to believe you cannot grow beyond certain limits. The guys discuss ADHD, identity, self-awareness, and the difference between understanding yourself and using a diagnosis as an excuse. That leads into storytelling, audiobooks, and why reading with emotion can transform words on a page into something alive. Naturally, the conversation takes a quick trip through Dune, video games, and questionable websites before landing on the evening’s most expensive lesson. After consuming cannabis, one of the guys gets pulled into a shopping app designed to turn purchasing into a game. A few confusing taps later, an unexpected $88 charge appears. The order gets canceled, but the mistake creates something more valuable: an opportunity for calm, honest communication between partners. Instead of becoming defensive, they slow down, clarify what happened, and make room for frustration without turning it into a fight. Sometimes “I’m fine” does not mean everything is fine—and asking one more thoughtful question can change the entire conversation. From there, the Sesh moves into how other people experience us, releasing old resentment, expressing emotion through art, and learning to observe our behavior before reacting. The guys also examine modern consumerism, smartphones, digital addiction, impulse purchases, and the strange tradeoffs that come with having nearly everything available through one screen. Of course, no Sesh stays completely serious. Expect detours into Nokia brick phones, sending 46,000 text messages in one month, Nintendo, PlayStation, GameStop, motorcycle helmets, Dune: Awakening, and the usual Cannabis School nonsense. This episode is about becoming more present: with your money, your relationships, your technology, and yourself. In this episode: • People, politics, and the problem with picking teams• When personal labels become limiting beliefs• ADHD, identity, and self-awareness• Reading with emotion and telling better stories• Cannabis and an accidental online purchase• Communicating without becoming defensive• Why “I’m fine” may deserve another question• How other people experience us• Releasing old resentment and changing your perspective• Creativity as an expression of emotion• Smartphones, consumerism, and digital addiction• Buying games versus actually playing them• Nintendo, PlayStation, and GameStop• Being more intentional with money and technology Find everything in one place here: 👉 https://cannabisschool.org

GMO Cookies Strain Review: Garlic, Gas & a Perfectly Chill High

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse revisit one of their longtime favorites: GMO Cookies, also known as GMO or Garlic Cookies. Created from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog genetics, GMO has become a building block for countless modern cannabis crosses. There is a reason it keeps returning to the rotation: the flavor is unmistakable, the experience is reliable, and even after trying hundreds of products, it still holds a place among the guys’ favorite strains. GMO delivers one of those flavor profiles that sounds terrible on paper but somehow works beautifully in cannabis. Expect garlic, diesel, onion, earth, pepper, skunk, and something slightly fermented. It is dark, savory, and funky without leaving you feeling like you ate an entire clove of garlic. The experience begins with a pleasant, head-forward brightness before the relaxing side starts moving in. It feels euphoric, social, and calming without immediately shutting everything down. With larger amounts, however, GMO can become much heavier and sleepier. This is commonly a high-THC strain, so new or sensitive consumers should approach it carefully. A small amount may be plenty. You can always consume more, but you cannot un-smoke the bowl. Brandon and Jesse also discuss why GMO works so well in strain combinations, how layering flower and concentrates can create a more consistent experience, and why its savory flavor can enhance a meal. The commonly reported terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene, although every grow and batch will be different. The class then moves into joint rolling, flavored papers, avoiding an uneven burn, Utah flower quality, irradiated cannabis, and the difference between dry flower and poorly grown flower. Jesse also introduces his extremely potent homemade “Stargazer Honey,” leading to an important conversation about edible tolerance, careful labeling, safe storage, and knowing your personal dose. The final verdict? GMO remains an old-school favorite with a strange flavor, a bright-but-relaxed experience, and enough potency to remind experienced consumers that a little can still go a long way. In this episode: • GMO Cookies genetics and history• Garlic, diesel, onion, pepper, and earthy flavors• Relaxing, euphoric, and social effects• Why GMO works well in cannabis combinations• Caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene• Flower, concentrates, and vape formats• Joint-rolling techniques and flavored papers• Avoiding canoeing and improving the burn• Utah cannabis quality and irradiated flower• Vaporizing versus smoking flower• Cannabis tolerance and responsible dosing• Stargazer infused honey and safe storage Have you tried GMO Cookies or a GMO cross? Trauma, Tall Tales & the Deep Diver Combo

Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with Brandon discovering that his mom shared the podcast with someone who recently started working in human resources for a cannabis retailer. Apparently, Cannabis School is becoming an unexpected educational resource—which is exciting and slightly terrifying when you remember how quickly these conversations can leave the classroom. Brandon and Jesse settle into the session with a custom cannabis combination: Novarine by Find Cannabis mixed with Black Triangle. The vapor feels dry on the throat, but the combination produces a strong, relaxing experience that the guys decide to call Deep Diver. The conversation takes a serious turn as Brandon and Jesse discuss trauma, survival responses, personal growth, and the different ways people process difficult experiences. They talk about compassion, observation, professional therapy, and why healing does not follow a universal schedule. From there, the discussion moves into tall tales, invented identities, military stories, and the possibility that some people create elaborate versions of themselves to protect—or escape—the person underneath. Once the Deep Diver combination fully arrives, the Sesh becomes considerably less focused. The guys revisit Robin Williams’ unpredictable comedy, discuss common misconceptions about stimulant drugs, and share cautionary stories about past substance use and poor decisions. Jesse recalls an early-2000s experience involving friends, an old manual Honda Civic, one enormous mistake, and a very close encounter with a fire hydrant. It is a funny story in hindsight, but also a clear example of how quickly impaired decisions can become dangerous. This is a classic Cannabis School Sesh: thoughtful, personal, funny, occasionally uncomfortable, and intended for mature audiences. In this episode: • Brandon’s mom shares Cannabis School• Cannabis education in an unexpected workplace• Trauma, survival responses, and healing• EMDR and professional mental-health support• Tall tales and invented identities• Mixing Novarine with Black Triangle• The Deep Diver cannabis combination• Remembering Robin Williams• Misconceptions about stimulant drugs• Jesse’s cautionary stories about past substance use• An old Honda Civic and a very close call• Why the Storz & Bickel Volcano remains a show favorite Chapters: 00:16 Brandon’s mom shares Cannabis School02:00 A serious conversation about trauma05:25 Different responses to difficult experiences09:37 Healing does not follow a schedule10:18 EMDR and processing the past11:18 Tall tales and invented identities20:15 Novarine mixed with Black Triangle20:48 The Deep Diver combination arrives21:21 Remembering Robin Williams23:40 Comedy and substance-use stories26:18 Clearing up stimulant misconceptions28:04 Jesse’s early-2000s story31:39 The runaway Honda Civic33:14 A close call with the parents38:04 The Storz & Bickel Volcano This episode contains mature discussions about trauma and past substance use. Novarine Strain Review

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Novarine by Find Cannabis, a sativa-dominant flower available in Utah’s medical cannabis market. Novarine crosses Caprichosa Thai with a THCV-rich Thai landrace, giving it old-school genetics and an experience far removed from the sweet dessert strains filling dispensary shelves. The aroma is one of the strangest we’ve encountered. Think funky feet, Indian spices, flowers, earth, and a little sweetness hiding underneath everything else. The vapor starts sharp and floral, while the buds have orange pistils, visible trichomes, and a clean—but fairly dry—appearance. The Find Cannabis batch reviewed in this episode was labeled at approximately 26.76% THC and included several minor cannabinoids. That higher potency is another reminder to read the package in front of you: cannabinoid levels can vary considerably between growers and batches, even when the strain name stays the same. Novarine comes on fast. At first, we experienced a bright headspace, increased alertness, restless energy, and pressure around the temples, jaw, and neck. It stopped just short of feeling anxious and never caused a noticeably racing heart. As the session continued, that physical tension faded and the experience became calmer, slower, and surprisingly relaxing. Is Novarine good for daytime use? It could be—especially for experienced consumers who want energetic effects for chores, movement, exercise, or another physical activity. We were less convinced about using it for complicated mental work because the early restlessness needed somewhere to go. At roughly $44 for an eighth, Novarine was not a bargain, but it was not outrageous for Utah either. The dry flower and uncomfortable opening kept it from becoming an everyday favorite, but its funky profile and dramatic shift from energy to relaxation made it memorable. Would we hunt it down every time? Probably not. Would we be mad if it randomly landed in the stash again? Not at all. In this episode: • Novarine’s Caprichosa Thai and Thai landrace genetics• THC, THCV, minor cannabinoids, and batch variation• Funky, spicy, floral, and earthy aromas• Vaporizing Novarine versus smoking it• Its fast sativa onset and calmer finish• Temple pressure, jaw tension, and restless energy• Terpenes, flower quality, dryness, and trimming• Old-school genetics versus modern dessert strains• Whether Novarine is worth buying in Utah• Def Leppard, Corvettes, and the usual Cannabis School detours Chapters: 00:00 Welcome to Cannabis School00:31 Find Cannabis Novarine01:14 Genetics and sativa dominance02:04 THC and minor cannabinoids03:37 Terpene profile04:08 First effects05:29 Daytime use05:55 Flower quality08:16 Focus and restlessness12:22 Effects begin changing14:47 The calmer finish15:09 Price and value16:24 Final verdict Have you tried Novarine by Find Cannabis? Sweet Berry Lemonade

Welcome to class! Today, Brandon and Jesse head back to the cannabis kitchen to create a custom combo they’re calling Sweet Berry Lemonade. The recipe starts with two very different flowers: the dark, funky, berry-forward Halle Berry by Betty and the bright, citrusy Super Lemon G from Dragonfly Brand Zero. After experimenting with the proportions, the guys land on a 50/50 blend that delivers the best of both worlds: an alert mind, a relaxed body, easy conversation, and plenty of flavor. Along the way, they explore how each flower contributes to the experience, why cannabinoid and terpene profiles can matter more than THC percentage alone, and how changing a blend’s ratio can completely change its effects. The conversation also wanders through mindful consumption, vaporizing versus smoking joints, gaming, creativity, and why the right cannabis combo can make a social activity even more enjoyable. The final verdict? Half Halle Berry and half Super Lemon G produced a sweet, citrusy, berry-lemonade flavor with an elevated mood, gentle physical relaxation, creative energy, and a clear enough head to enjoy the moment. Are You Trying to Be Right?

This Sesh starts with an idea for building better connections and ends up going somewhere much deeper: ego, self-awareness, faith, service, judgment, and the difference between talking about love and actually living it. We get into why people prejudge each other, how those snap judgments create friction, and what happens when you stop trying to win every interaction. Sometimes growth is simply catching yourself before you respond and asking, “Am I helping right now, or am I just trying to be right?” We also talk about creating spaces where people can connect without all the usual labels, how cannabis helped teach us patience, why self-awareness isn’t about “fixing” who you are, and what it looks like to put your beliefs into practice through honesty, kindness, and service. Because being right doesn’t mean much if you lose the person in front of you. Keep the Mic on. Fuel the movement. Keep the conversation going. Blueberry Sugar: The 16% THC Strain That Blew Us Away

Purple, frosty, fruity, gassy—and only around 16% THC? Blueberry Sugar by Brand Zero proves that a great cannabis experience isn’t always about chasing the biggest number on the label. In this episode of Cannabis School, Brandon and Jesse explore this Cream Cake 2.1 × Blueberry Frosting hybrid. They break down its deep purple-and-blue flower, orange hairs, heavy trichome coverage, sweet aroma, and surprisingly peppery finish. Blueberry Sugar delivers a clear-headed, calming, and creative experience without leaving them feeling foggy or stuck. The conversation quickly expands into productivity, curiosity, self-awareness, changing old behaviors, and finding more joy in your own journey. They also compare vaping Blueberry Sugar at 365°F with smoking it in a joint—and discover two noticeably different experiences.
