From Telecom Engineer to Leadership Coach: Why Vulnerability Wins

Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak. What happens when a telecom engineer realizes technology upgrades aren't his passion? Leadership coach Albert Cervelló Griso shares his pivot from deploying networks at Cisco to helping technical leaders develop human skills. Discover why vulnerability is the key to team connection. Guest Bio: Albert Cervelló Griso was following the path that was expected of him, which he assumed would make him happy. He had studied for a degree, worked for a large multinational, travelled the world, and earned a good salary. He had a place to live, a car, and a significant other. However, upon turning 30 and despite having social status and a good position as a Telecommunications Engineer at one of the best technology companies in the world, he began to feel lost, unmotivated, and anxious. From a young age, Albert had always been interested in reading self-help and leadership books, in particular, those offering advice on how to feel better and improve oneself. The truth is, like most people, after so many years at school and university, he not only ended up with a degree, but also a great capacity to memorise. Unfortunately, he did not know himself; he did not know what he liked, what he was good at, or what his purpose in life was. He had always been driven by something that had a clear professional outlet. He did not know what emotions were, let alone how to manage conflict, anxiety, and personal relationships. It was in early 2011 when Albert discovered coaching and embarked on his journey of personal and professional transformation. By following his purpose, aligning his values and strengths, and learning how to manage his emotions, he was finally able to focus on what fulfilled him and made him feel good: personal and organisational development, leadership, and interpersonal skills. From Deputy Superintendent to Leadership Coach: Finding Purpose After Burnout

Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak. What happens when a successful leader hits a wall despite outward success? Leadership coach Paula Shannon shares her journey from deputy superintendent to coaching executives through burnout. Learn why productivity as identity holds leaders back and how to reconnect with joy. Guest Bio: Paula Shannon is the founder of Whole Leader Lab, where she helps teams and leaders improve how they communicate, engage, and influence. Every business has three things: products and services, plans to design and deliver them, and people. The products and the plans are tangible and visible. The people dynamics are not, and that is where Paula works. She helps teams communicate and collaborate, supports leaders and owners in engaging in ways that empower and expand their influence, and works with the emotional dynamics always at play so leaders and their teams move from reacting to responding. Before founding her practice, Paula spent more than seventeen years in senior and C-suite roles, including as Deputy Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, leading organizations of thousands through complex, high-stakes change. That experience taught her how much the way people experience an organization shapes whether they stay, trust, and do their best work. She is now training as an X-Factor Certified Consultant, deepening her ability to apply behavioral psychology to the design of experiences that build connection and belonging. Paula is especially interested in this work as technology reshapes how organizations relate to the people they serve. Paula is a certified executive coach, consultant, and speaker. Why AUDHD Entrepreneurs Need Different Business Strategies to Thrive

Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak. What happens when conventional business advice actually works against your neurodivergent brain? Alex Owen-Hill shares how his AUDHD diagnosis transformed his business strategy—revealing why AUDHD entrepreneurs need to hire help earlier, embrace hyperfixation cycles, and work inside their comfort zone. Guest Bio: Alex Owen-Hill probably shouldn't have a bio like this. Bios like this are supposed to tell you what someone does, who they help, and why they're "The Best" in language that sounds impressive, polished, and businessy… but that could be said by almost anyone and could frankly be spat out by an AI. Which is exactly the opposite of Alex's values and mission: helping people sound more like their glorious, unique selves. Now for a bunch of impressive-sounding labels: Voice and speaker coach, voice researcher, physical comedian, and professional clown, trained at the notoriously demanding École Philippe Gaulier, where being boring is the highest unforgivable sin. A plethora of voice certifications including Gender-Affirming Voice Work, Emotional Vocal Expression, and Neuroscience and Voice. Also currently completing an MA in Voice research specialising in Neurodivergent Voice and Workplace Masking. As an ADHD-autistic, Alex creates clown shows about neurodivergence and difference. In business, Alex's work has always been a bridge between the authentic world of performers and the "normal" business world. A PhD in robotics from a previous life has led to over a decade of experience in content marketing and strategy for tech businesses… an industry where companies increasingly all sound exactly like each other. For years, trying to follow the right business advice was actively working against Alex's brain and thwarted business growth. All the frameworks, funnels, and best-practice teachings deeply violated the values and mission. It's only when Alex decided to rebel against the business advice that things started to align… Connect with Alex Owen-Hill LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/alexowenhillWebsite: https://alexowenhill.co.uk/ Resources or websites mentioned in this episode:Mirasee Credits: Host: Meredith EisenbergEditor: Marvin Del RosarioExecutive Producer: Danny Iny To catch the great episodes coming up on Making It, please follow us on Mirasee FM's YouTube channel or your favorite podcast player.
