Why I Never Told My Story (Until Now)

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode includes detailed discussion of childhood sexual abuse. Please listen with care, and skip if you need to. If you need support, call or text 988 in the US, or call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673. You are not alone, and healing is possible.Hey, friend! Welcome to Sex Ed for Saints. I am doing what scared me in Las Vegas: telling my story. Not the whole story. One piece, the piece that made me write the book. I went to Vegas as a guest on Jasmine Mays podcast, Saved and Single, thinking I was going to talk about Go To Bed Naked. Instead, God pulled me into my own story. My mouth would not stop, while my brain kept asking why I was sharing this. When I walked out, Jasmine asked me, Tammy, how did you get through it? That question stopped me. I have downplayed my story for so long. I have skirted past it. I tell people, yes, I have been through trauma, but I never really talk about what those things are. And I realized people do not buy products, friend. They buy the story the product came from. There was nothing connecting my story to what I make. So today, I am telling you the part I should have started with. The part about singleness, about healing, about sanctification in marriage, and about why I believe God wants me to talk until all have heard. If you have ever felt like you said too much, or never said enough, this one is for you. We can be candid and still love God. Healing After Trauma: Stop Isolating, Start Rebuilding

🔓 FROM THE VAULT | Never Before Seen This one almost stayed on the shelf. The audio isn't perfect. The message is too important to keep locked away. You got hurt. So you pulled back. You stopped answering the calls, stopped letting people in, and told yourself it was protection. But isolation isn't healing. It's hiding with better branding. In this throwback conversation, I sit down with Survivor Empowerment Coach Larissa Rhone to talk about what it really takes to rebuild after trauma. We get honest about: ✨ Sitting with yourself long enough to actually know yourself ✨ Recognizing your triggers instead of being ruled by them ✨ Why everyone's trauma response looks different ✨ Staying open and vulnerable after people have failed you People will let you down. That doesn't give you permission to disappear. Keep your heart open, because you never know who God is sending next. You've gotta learn you. This episode is where you start. 🎧 Heads up: this recording has some audio issues. Stay with us. The word is worth it. 📅 Sex Ed for Saints returns with brand new episodes Monday, October 5th at 6 PM ET. Set your reminder. We're coming back ready. Why You Feel Obligated

She said yes. Her body wasn't there for it. If sex in your marriage feels like one more task on the list instead of something you actually want, this episode is for you. We're naming what obligation sex really is, where it came from (yes, some of it came straight from the pulpit), and why "just do your duty" is quietly killing desire in Christian marriages everywhere. We're pulling back the curtain on two competing teachings inside the church right now. One says sex is a debt you owe your husband, no matter what. The other says that same teaching is what's normalizing coercion in Christian homes. We're showing you both, and telling you which one actually holds up. Then we're going to Esther. A queen who hadn't been called to the king's chambers in thirty days, and walked in anyway. Her confidence wasn't built on access to her body. It was built on being fully known. That's the difference between performing availability and actually giving yourself, and it's the whole episode in one sentence. If you've ever said yes to keep the peace, this one's for you. Come find out why. 🎙️ Listen now on Sex Ed for Saints Connect with The Marriage Lab:📍 themarriagelab.substack.com🌐 yourmarriagelab.com📱 TikTok & Instagram: @themarriagelabllc💛 Support the show via Zelle under "The Marriage Lab" Protect your home from digital compromise: Covenant Eyes, code MARRIAGELAB → https://covenanteyes.sjv.io/marriagelab #SexEdForSaints #ChristianMarriage #OnenessInMarriage
