    Ep. 2 Queen Nanny and the Maroons

    On this episode we move from Ghana, across the Atlantic to Jamaica, to tell a tale of a group of Africans who refused to be enslaved and the power heroine that guided them. Queen Nanny of the Maroons was a no nonsense tactician and herbalist who repeatedly outwit her rivals, the British, by employing African war strategies. She and her community of Maroons made such an impact on Jamaica's history that she has since been immortalized on the Jamaican 500 dollar bill. Tune in to connect with the story of this powerful woman and the incredible warriors that fought to maintain their freedom.
