Princess Without Land

Stacey Fulufhelo Williams

In Africa everyone has a tie to royalty, but you must have land to have authority. The claims of a Fourth Industrial Revolution have stirred debates about the value of land, conceptions of sustainability and the pragmatics of globalisation. In South Africa legislation to expropriate land without compensation has been passed and will affect developers in the United Kingdom. Alongside the growing importance of technology, decolonisation and other institutional reforms we may have a whole new world where the internet is a country. Is this what it means to be a global citizen?
