  1. Being Resourceful as a Startup Founder Bootstrapping with Catherine Mary Said (Episode 153)

Being Resourceful as a Startup Founder Bootstrapping with Catherine Mary Said (Episode 153)

Catherine’s story of being resourceful as a founder bootstrapping is so inspiring for other founders out there. She broke it down into the following steps: 🧡 When she pitched her idea to 2 of her friends: She found 2 co-founders - one specialising in B2B Tech Sales and the other one specialising in Product Design. 🧡 When she approached University of Sydney with the idea, they suggested her to apply at the Incubator Pre-Accelerator Program. That’s what I would call Luck + Timing + Capitalising at the right opportunity. And she learnt the art of simply ask questions even if you don’t know anything at that stage. 🧡 During the Pre-Accelerator Program, they must have done around 100 customer interviews and found out answers to: who’s the customer base, how do we solve this problem and much more. 🧡 During this time, she heard a lot of Podcasts and got advise/ tips from different mentors. And that's so important to do, especially at the initial few stages of building up your idea. 🧡 She is based out of Fishburners and so she has also made sure to fully utilise the resources there: from talking to industry mentors, business advisors and much more; to utilising the vibrant space there and attending so many great networking events there. Catherine recently joined us as the 132nd speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

  2. Men & Mental Health with Miriam Wood (Episode 151)

Men & Mental Health with Miriam Wood (Episode 151)

🤔 How often do you feel ashamed/ embarrassed/ scared as a man to talk about your mental health and emotions? Let’s get rid of this stigma now. Give this episode a listen - a must watch for everyone out there. 🙌 The ability for men to open up about themselves and talk about something they are going through might depend on different factors such as their nationality, culture or their upbringing. Both men and women go through different mental health issues. But the way they show up is very different. 🧠 We talked a lot of about typical stereotypes in this episode that men are often taught or believed to become since childhood: 🔎 You’re a man. You need to be strong. 🔎 Don’t be a girl. Stop crying. 🔎 Be strong. You need to toughen up. 🔎 Mate, I think you are just coming out with your feminine side. 🔎 Women are supposed to be emotional and men are supposed to be strong. 🔎 Women are supposed to cry and men are supposed to hide their tears. ❤️ That’s what and how the society lets things be treated as normal and expressing emotions just keeps on becoming tougher for men. George and I wanted to do this special episode with Miriam Wood who specialises in Men’s Mental Health. She did an exceptional job in covering all aspects around Men & Mental Health. We had a great discussion around Men & Mental Health with Miriam Wood on the Ultimate Global Podcast very recently, who joined us as the 130th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess

  3. The New Concept of Human Success with Nina Caroe (Episode 149)

The New Concept of Human Success with Nina Caroe (Episode 149)

💡 Employees will stick with any organization when they can see themselves succeeding there. That's what defines Human Success. What do employees look for in organizations today? 🧡 Flexible and hybrid working environment: People would often run away from organizations that would not offer that. 🧡 No micromanagement: Employees would love to work at a place where the company is building a strong culture of trust and no micromanagement. 🧡 Employees want to see ways of getting upskilled in the organisation so they can learn and grow daily. 🧡 They want to see a clear personalised career pathway and succession planning for them. 🤝 We were recently joined by Nina Elisabeth Carøe 🙌 from Zensai on the Ultimate Global Podcast along with Paul Scott to talk about the new concept of Human Success that the company is trying to embark on. A lot of feel disengaged at work and can't see their success due to several reasons: 1️⃣ Basic stuff such as base pay, annual leave, extra benefits - increasing cost of living has got a lot to do with that as well with people saving less in a tough economy out there. 2️⃣ Lack of flexibility at workplaces: Some workplaces which are still living in the past and not offering flexibility to work from anywhere contribute towards the biggest reason for disengagement at workplaces. ✅ Work from anywhere ✅ Work from the office/ beach/ home/ library/ cafe ✅ Flexibility around work routines and timetables 3️⃣ Not feeling aligned with the company's vision: This would often happen due to different reasons: lack of proper training and a possible disconnect between leadership and employees. 4️⃣ A clear lack of communication between the managers and employees. That's what is often the reason for Quiet Quitting in GenZ and millenials. How do you tackle that? ➡ In our organisation, we do Weekly Check-ins every Friday afternoon where you can talk more about your week. And that gets directly fed to your Manager. I just need to answer 4 questions: ✅ What have you achieved this week? ✅ Have you experienced any blockers or issues this week? ✅ Have any colleagues done a great job this week? ✅ How are you feeling this week? Add some context. 5️⃣ People often can't see what sort of career pathways there are for them while moving forward in the same company. And that's a big WHY for people remaining in the same organisation for years. If you don't define personalised career pathways, people would start looking out at something else. 6️⃣ Their achievements and efforts are not recognised and talked about. Such a relevant episode for everyone out there! Do you agree on this? What else would you look for in an organization to see yourself successful there? #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #humansuccess
