    As EFL learners, we constantly find ourselves on the lookout for new strategies to develop our speaking skills. We can look at this process from different perspectives, and undoubtedly there are different areas of improvement when it comes to speaking a foreign language. However, if we know exactly the stage of the process in which we find ourselves at this very moment, we will have a better view on the needs that we should satisfy to increase our linguistic abilities. In this episode I talk about why I find the elevator speech detrimental for most learners in search of improving their speaking skills.     The Three Activities I Love the Most

    Have you considered to be surrounded by English? EFL learners believe that they must travel to an English-speaking country to improve their communicative skills. That is great, but unrealistic for some people. Some people can do it; some other people just can’t for whatever reason, but there are specific actions you can carry out today to be surrounded by English without traveling abroad, changing your routine, or even dropping the things you love to do the most. This is a total no brainer, but many learners fail at recognizing what they could do to boost their linguistic abilities.     Loving the Idea of Learning English More than Learning English Itself

    The Joyful Journey

    Have you ever gone through the user guide of your smart assistance looking for specific instructions? Well, probably most of us have been there at least once, but this is not important. The really important takeaway for you to know is that this is not, by any means, similar to the process of learning English. So, you knew this already. OK, that’s fair enough, but have you ever reflected on why learners stubbornly persist on looking at English as a freaking manual? The Important question here  is why do this happen? Find the answer and make up your mind, so that you can remove another attitudinal barrier stopping you from getting at the place you want to be in the English learning process.     Welcome to the Experience of English in the Making

    Sick and tired of looking for the magic formula to boost your English to the very top of your potential? The Good news for you is that in this podcast the ship hasn’t sailed yet, so you can get on board and venture yourself into a risky but joyful journey. The bad news is that you will have to unlearned what you have heard about learning English, reset your brain, and discover your own pathway to draw on your first-hand experience rather than the manuals written by scholars. Nowadays, this concept is known as metacognition; however, this podcast is not limited to such a concept, and it embodies a lot more. It all began as a simple question, how to do this? It seems a simple question, but if you take a few seconds and think about it, it changes everything because most of the approaches on how to learn English out there respond to the question, what to do instead of how to do. So, what to do? It’s easy. You can find the answer in thousands of blogs on internet: Memorize vocabulary write sentences, watch YouTube videos about English tenses, etc. All this is good; I won’t lie to you. Be that as it may, why do learners still struggle when listening, writing, reading, and speaking? Yes! This is my point! In this podcast I will try to respond to how to do instead.
