Welcome to Jumping into Jupiter! Where we know that life is hard and we are placed in so many different situations and experiences that it honestly leaves your head spinning! Come and list to me and my stories of how I have survived my life thus far while working around the society and culture of growing up a Mexican girl in a not so diverse town, with a strict upbringing! I discuss the many failures and successes that I have experienced with nothing to do with Jupiter (sorry)! You may get some motivation out of it or just a good laugh either way I hope you enjoy Jumping into Jupiter with me!!

    The Master of Distraction

In the second part of this series, I’m pulling back the curtain on my Master’s degree experience and revealing why I spent two years building a life that I never actually intended to live in. I take you back to my very first introductory class where I sat in the third row, hiding from the spotlight while my classmates spoke passionately about their trajectories in the program. I realized in that moment that I had no trajectory at all; I was just collecting degrees as a form of insurance against a life I was too afraid to start living. I dive into the brutal reality of those two years where I worked three jobs and powered through summer semesters just to stay too busy to think. I share the lonely image of coming home at midnight to a microwaved dinner and sitting at my desk until three in the morning with my third cup of coffee, using productivity as a shield to numb the pain of a really bad personal place. We talk about the soul-level exhaustion that hit me just fourteen days before graduation, when I was ready to walk away from everything because I finally realized that achievement is a poor substitute for healing. I explore the pressure I feel today to make start my life because it feels like I’m out of time to make mistakes. This episode is a reminder to myself and to you that we are allowed to be beginners at thirty, and that our worth isn't found in the unused bricks of our past, but in the courage to finally build something for ourselves.
