Going on Still Part 1

The sermon explores the enduring faith of Abraham, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to God's promises despite personal challenges like Sarah's barrenness and separation from his family. Drawing from Romans 4 and Genesis 12, the message highlights the importance of trusting God's direction, even when circumstances appear uncertain or difficult, and underscores the necessity of moving forward with faith, recognizing that God's will may lead to unexpected paths and require a willingness to leave behind familiar comforts. Ultimately, the speaker encourages listeners to embrace a spirit of perseverance and to actively pursue God's calling, believing that steadfastness in faith will lead to divine blessing and fulfillment.

Holy Heartburn

Drawing from the narrative of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, the sermon explores the transformative power of encountering Christ and engaging in meaningful conversation about his person, passion, and promises. The preacher uses the analogy of heartburn to illustrate the spiritual longing and fervent desire that arises from a genuine relationship with God, emphasizing that conviction alone is insufficient; a personal connection and persistent pursuit are essential for spiritual growth. Drawing parallels to Jacob's wrestling with God, the message encourages listeners to actively seek and hold onto divine presence, recognizing that such engagement can lead to profound change and a renewed sense of purpose, ultimately fostering a deeper connection with the divine.
