5: No to Violence, Yes to Punching Up

Massive episode here bc we disappeared for a month, lmao. Also, you're welcome for three episodes in a week. Anyway, in this week we talk about Will Smith and Chris Rock, Lungol being "a big proponent of violence", and Dylan reflecting on fatherhood as a full-time daddy. We discuss the unconsensual distribution of intimate media in Pasifika communities and the imperial influences of China, Australia, NZ, and the US in the Pacific Islands. Dylan drags some white man for calling for the invasion of the Solomon Islands and Lungol discusses the infrastructure of mental healthcare in PNG. In this episode we discuss the acquittal in Kumanjayi Walker's case and examine Australia's treatment of refugees with the release of nine people from Park Hotel and the 12-month visas available to Ukrainians trying to flee conflict. Dylan reflects upon one-sided relationships and Lungol talks about preserving his soul on social media. 2: We're Coming For You, Joe Rogan

This week, we discuss International Women's Day and Dylan blames Lungol for getting stopped by a cop. In this episode we discuss Sorcery Accusation–Related Violence (SARV) in Papua New Guinea, Melanesia's politicians giving solidarity to Ukraine but not West Papua, the floods in NSW and QLD, and the discourse around Kanye West, mental illness, and domestic violence. Dylan had an incredible Monday that brought great news and even better plans and Lungol blames his parents for being single because their relationship is a healthy and models what he's willing to accept. 1: Season 2 Baby!

New szn, new us. Join us as we go back to your regularly scheduled programming with the same segments. Dylan becomes a motivational speaker and turns the tables on our listeners by plying you with advice instead of threats! How good! Lungol, on the other hand, doubles down on his homophobia and drags the queer organised left in Sydney. We discuss PNG's economy in the context of Covid, Fiji's upcoming elections, the invasion of the Ukraine, and so much more. Please forgive the audio of this episode, we had a few mishaps during our recording session this week.  Follow us online!InstagramPodcast PlaylistLungol:InstagramTwitter Dylan:Talanoa Talk

9: One Got Covid, One Got Bipolar

WE ARE BACK!!! Welcome to the end of our hiatus AND season one of Pasifikally.  Coming back with a bit more structure, a lot of updates, and way too much to cover, Lungol and Dylan make a comeback with a crash course of what they’ve been through for the past three months. Dylan tells us about his Fiji trip, Lungol lives vicariously through him, and we cover Invasion Day, Cook Got Cooked Day, and Tonga.  Trigger warning in the first 20 minutes of this episode for frank discussions of mental illness and suicidality.  Things We Mentioned Lungol's TiktokGIVE US A (5 star) RATING/REVIEW PLSFollow us online!InstagramPodcast PlaylistLungol:InstagramTwitter Dylan:InstagramTalanoa Talk Please note that this was recorded 11 days ago and is only just going up now because Lungol’s depression has temporarily decided to leave him alone. Also, Lungol’s dad’s gig didn’t end up happening but let’s pretend it did since it’s a pretty fun story.

    8: We're in Therapy!

Big trigger warning for mental illness and mass deaths and burials in this episode. This week we talk about getting in therapy, getting your boys into therapy, and navigating the conversation about mental health as Black men in the Pacific. We also discuss the Covid crisis in PNG and how devastating it continues to be. Dylan brings up the New Caledonian vote against independence from France and Lungol discusses Barbados finally becoming a republic! 7.2: Punch Them in the Throat (with Wendy Mocke) [Part 2 of 2]

Continuing on from our last episode, Papua New Guinean actor, writer, theatremaker, and bad bitch extraordinaire Wendy Mocke joins Dylan, and Lungol to talk cancel culture, Australia and China's imperial influence over the Pacific, and navigating colonial structures in the pursuit to tell our own stories. The tea in this episode is scalding, besties; Wendy reveals that she was the face of safe sex in PNG, Dylan finds out he actually lived in a Papua New Guinean prison, and Lungol sent some lady to the ER because her whiteness was so fragile. This week we send our love and solidarity to our siblings in West Papua and the Solomon Islands. Make sure to check out "The 'm e r i' project" (linked below) because if you don't, you're racist. Also make sure to spread the word about what's going on in West Papua or else you're racist. Basically do everything we tell you to do or risk being anti-Black and getting punched in the throat, xoxo.
