Japanese Role-Playing Games are one of the most beloved mechanical genres by the video games community. The people who love them are often dedicated and loyal fans. I love JRPGs, but I've missed out on so many of them. When coming up with this list, I had a wealth of games to choose from, but this is a topic I'd love to revisit in a few years. Jason, who chatted with me about Earthbound Beginnings on episode 42, is a JRPG lover, and had plenty to say about some games that I've never played. Well we played another Zelda title this month, and once again The Hero of Legend offered up a Certified Smash of a game. Wind Waker got me thinking about the best Zelda games for Bonus Round, but I ended up opting for the best ITEMS in Zelda games instead. And rather than just pick out favorites, this time Anthony and I made it a draft to avoid any overlap, and to frustrate each other so much! Haha. To kick off SBRGP Season 4, I thought it would be fun to go back to revisit and recap the games I played with my guests during Season One, Two, and Three of Smashing Bricks. Regular guest Anthony LaBella joins me for this Season Three ranking, and he's seeking redemption for dissing Crash Bandicoot in episode 18. I, on the other hand, am on a redemption arc for my most controversial verdict since Super Mario Sunshine, giving FFIX a little more love this time around. Anthony has played all but one of the games on this list, despite only being on the podcast for two of them. It was fun to get a third opinion on most of these, and to come up with an official Smashing Bricks game ranking for the third season. We'll be doing the same for Season 4 and all future seasons, and I hope you'll all take a minute to make your own rankings and share them in the Discord!
