Generosity isn’t just about what we give; it’s about who God is shaping us to become. In this Team Night message for table group, volunteer team, and support group leaders, Pastor Christy Gibas introduces Keep the Change, a five-week series beginning November 8 that invites The Table Church to trust God with our finances, pursue freedom from debt, and grow in open-handed generosity. Drawing on her first career in banking and her own story of God’s provision, Pastor Christy explains why debt isn’t automatically the problem, but it becomes one when it has us. She shares a bold dream for The Table Church to be debt-free, so that our households and our church have the margin to say “Yes, Lord” when God calls us to the places where people aren’t lining up to go. You’ll hear a walkthrough of the series, from “What Are You Afraid Of?” (Matthew 6) to “Open Hands” (1 Chronicles 29), and a preview of our Big Give Sunday on December 6, which supports table groups, hot meals through Steel City Table, our new after-school program, welcoming worship spaces, and a stronger financial foundation for the years ahead. Pastor Christy also offers five practical ways leaders can walk alongside people during the series: take the journey personally, make room for conversation, share your story, care for people with compassion and without shame, and help people put their faith into practice. The episode closes with an invitation to join a 30-day breakthrough prayer from 2 Corinthians 9:8–12, and a reminder that when we pray for God to move a mountain, we should be ready to wake up next to a shovel.
