Real Talk Tuesday: Adventures-in-Dating...The List

The dreaded List...if you've been on a dating app you know the one I'm talking about. The one where he says he wants a girl who loves to wear dresses and have dinner on the table when he walks in the door, is fit and athletic and never smokes, drinks,curses or has any tattoos; the one where she says he MUST be over 6 feet tall, have a six pack (abs, not beer), no baby mama drama and will worship the ground his lady walks on... I know, right? None of these take into account WHO someone is on the inside. What kind of personality they have, their goals and dreams and if their weird matches your weird! Maybe the better list to make would be the one you make about yourself... the one with the things you bring to a relationship that make you a good catch for that perfect-for-you person? Or at least look at your list and see how many boxes you check off before you add The List to your dating profile!

Thursday Thoughts... Survivor Guilt

Yep. Many of us have it, at least to some degree. But it's not something we talk about. It's not an acceptable topic of conversation in polite company. Maybe that needs to change? Maybe I want it to change, to bring the things no one talks about out into the mainstream collective conscious of the world. Today's episode is me doing exactly that... being open and honest and fully transparent about my Survivor Guilt. Hopefully, it will help you if you are dealing with it too.

Yeah, I was just as surprised as you ! Today we talk about the real issues we all face when entering the dating realm, the funny and the not so funny. The one thing I have found in talking with Pam, is that we are all going through similar experiences. Men, Women, Wealthy, Middle class, divorced, widowed, live in the south, the east, the west... no matter who we are, or where we live... WE HAVE ALL HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES! I know! Thoughtful Thursday... Gratitude In Rome

Four years ago I was in Europe. To be exact, I was in Rome, experiencing my husband's Bucket List trip to see all the wonders of that ancient city, the Vatican and the Pope. It was a difficult trip, but my sister and her family were with me, I had my husband's ashes to leave in special places along the journey... And I had FAITH that I was doing what I needed to do to help me to begin to heal my shattered heart. Along the journey through Rome, and the other cities I visited, I found things to be grateful and thankful for; the stranger on the plane who let me hold his arm when the flight got rough, the flight attendant who made sure I had wine or coffee at all times, the smiles of the locals who spoke almost no English, but gave me a hug when I broke into tears in the Orange Garden on Aventine Hill... Known as the most romantic place in Rome. Kindness, compassion and empathy from strangers did a lot to restore my sense of gratitude for all that the Universe has in store for me...
