Boys Watching Buffy

This is a great podcast, especially if you were a fan of these tv shows years ago as a teen. Find myself often laughing out loud at their analysis. I just watched the first episode of off campus and I NEED to hear their take on it, that one next?

Edit: so I did come back, and I feel like the nit picking has gone down, and it has been much more of a fun positive experience. But again, you might want to get into the show before listening. At episode 16 of the vm podcast now. Funny guys, BUT they take all the fun out of Veronica Mars - if you love VM, I don’t recommend. Yes, the show is ridiculous some times, but I didn’t want to hear 2 hours of complaints about each episode. I was looking for a podcast to feel like I had someone to talk to about this show (first time watching and I became obsessed, and no one else is watching it now). To be fair, I only got to episode 11, but I think I’m done. I will likely come back once I’m don’t the series. It’s just not great if you want to enjoy the show the first time around.

I think the guys are having a fun time watching and reviewing the episodes. It started out a little rough, and it seems like they have very little context of the 90s and sci-fi/fantasy shows. Once the show hits its stride, it seems like the boys are a lot more open to the fun and quirky elements of the series. However, the boys seem to miss a lot of plot elements, and call out aspects of the episodes that have clearly been established. They tend to be more worried about nitpicking random beats (ex: “why would a kid with brain cancer miss half the school year?” Which has an obvious answer), then really diving into character or emotional beats. I’ll continue listening and update this review!

Im always cracking up with Vance and Joe. They provide the context and great banter about this overwhelmingly ridiculous awesome show!
