    TOMMY PRICE | From dying on a recce, to completing the Bob Graham Round!

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ On the Home Trails Podcast this week, I speak to Tommy Price, the ultimate comeback kid! During a winter Bob recce, Tommy encountered severe weather that quickly made him hypothermic. His mate Max, unable to move Tommy back down the mountain had to make the decision to wrap him in a bivvy bag and go for help. Shortly after, Tommy crawled out of the bag and suffered cardiac arrest while his body temperature plummeted to just 20 degrees. After hours out on the hill, exposed to the -15 wind chill, most paramedics would have assumed he was beyond saving, but Keswick MRT had other ideas! They summoned a helicopter from North Wales to airlift Tommy to Newcastle where he received life saving treatments. Tommy wasn't out of the woods just yet as doctors feared he would be left brain damaged because he his heart had stopped for so long. But, not only did he recover. But he recovered enough to race the London marathon in aid of his beloved Keswick MRT. Then, to complete the circle, Tommy returned to the Lake District to finish what he started.     COACHES CORNER | Coach Woza returns to talk about his trip to Chamonix for UTMB

Woza had front row seats to watch the action from downtown Chamonix, So we do our best to talk through the highs and the lows of the greatest show on earth.     LUCY GOSSAGE | New Pennine Way Record!

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ Lucy returns to the Home Trails Podcast to talk about her new Pennine Way record! After a previous attempt to complete as a self supported record attempt, Lucy returned to finish the job......and finish it she did! Knocking 2 hours off Anna Troup's previous record.  Lucy talks about her recovery, which involves going back to work (seriously), swollen legs and zero alcohol beers! She plans to head up to the LAP tomorrow to watch her sister run and eat lots of cake (her, not her sister!) We talk about the laid back fun approach to the monumental effort that saw her run for just under 3 days straight, an achievement that no other woman has managed until now! We talk about her support crew that was a who's who of the UK ultra-running community and how they got her through the highs and the lows of the epic journey from Kirk Yetholm back to Edale. Lucy believes that another woman could get closer to the 65 hour mark on the right weather window. But until that happens we have a new Pennine Way record holder.  Take a bow GOSS!     LOUISE BROOKWELL | 1st Overall at Ring Of Fire 130

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ This episode is a celebration of women's ultra-running this week! We recap the new FKT on the Pennine Way by Lucy Gossage of 70 hours 47 minutes and 15 seconds! We discuss Rasselbock BYU winner Becky Atkinson and the fact that the final 3 runners were all women, which included our very own Home Trailer - Hayley Wilson who provided the assist. Megan Eckert finishes Hungary's EMU 6 day race, running an impressive 636.5 miles for a 6 day world's best, becoming the first woman to pass the 1000KM mark!  last, but by no means least....Louise Brookwell returns to the podcast to talk about her own overall win at the Ring Of Fire 130 ultra. We dive into her training and lead up to this local race on Holyhead. We talk about how her race was almost upended by going off course not 1, but 3 times! We talk about the fact that she feels part of something bigger than just her own race, with amazing results being put up by women all over the world at the moment. As Louise put it....it was her turn to 'Pull a Rachel Entrekin' and say "Why not me?" Why not indeed!     LUKE GRENFELL-SHAW | 4th place at CCC

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ Luke returns to the podcast to talk about his recent 4th place at the UTMB World Finals in Chamonix in the CCC race. Before we dive into his awesome performance in the 100k race, we catch up on what he's been up to since we last spoke, which was in April of 2025! He speaks about him finishing his Bristol to Bejing cycle for charity, the ensuing film tour that took over his life for a while and his racing in between. Luke talks about trying to balance his film tour with racing, that sometimes put him on the backfoot with his training and race execution. We talk about his new home in France and how its helped him to lock in and focus on his training for races in Europe. We obviously dive into his outstanding performance at CCC and how he feels to be racing the best trail runners in the world!  Luke is doing great things and I'm convinced he's set for more success in the coming seasons!     Charlotte Fisher | Pre-UTMB Interview

We talk about this being Charlotte's debut at the big loop and how she feels going into race week. We talk about her time at the Hoka training camp in Chamonix and how she missed the start of the craziness beginning in the town to return to the Isle of Wight to be at home. We talk about the pressure that she does/doesn't feel is on her for her first attempt at the race and how overall, she feels like the pressure is slightly off because its her first go at the race.  But as we all know with big races like this, anything can happen if you run your own race.     UTMB Week - Preview!

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ It's UTMB week! So I sit down with Louise, one of the Home Trailers to discuss. Louise is no stranger to UTMB and big ticket races, so she comes on to giver her perspective as a previous racer over in Chamonix and to give us the low down on the women's races. We chat about the race schedule for the week, what the races are like and obviously the contenders for the podiums from the women's and mens elite fields. We also chat about the wildcards racing for the first time and who we think is being overlooked! We end the chat with Charlotte Fisher popping on before her own pre-race interview (out in a few days)  For the keen listener....we had a couple of microphone mishaps in this episode, one involving me leaving my DJI mini mic on while I went inside to get a drink (plus some other stuff!)     RY WEBB | Lakeland 50 Winner, Surfboard maker, Pizza expert!

    Message Home Trails here - include an email or name for a response ⬅️ On this episode of HT I speak to Ry Webb. Ry was somewhat of an enigma to me and I freely admitted that I should know more about him. Having quietly been doing his thing for many years, Ry isn't big on social media and prefers to race and not create too much fanfare. But, his results speak for him. In 2021 he won and set the course record on the Centurion NDW50. He won the WD200 in 2023 and was 2nd at Lakeland 100 last year. He regularly hits the top ten at international races and was 4th at Leadville 100 in 2025 and took on Laverado 80k and OCC to name a few big races. This year Ry took 1st place at the highly competitive Lakeland 50 ,with the top 3 all within minutes of each other, all whilst suffering from cramp that seems to follow him to every big race he does! So in this interview, I dig into Ry's superhero origin story and find out how he got into trail running, his pizza and surfboard making skills, his coaching business and his close ties with Centurion Running.
