60th Anniversary of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

Send us Fan Mail Tonight on Films & Fermentation, we're celebrating the 60th anniversary of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, the beloved Halloween classic that taught generations of children about friendship, faith, and the crushing disappointment of getting a rock instead of candy. 🎃 For six decades, we've watched Linus spend Halloween in a pumpkin patch waiting for a giant imaginary vegetable, while the rest of the Peanuts gang enjoys costumes, candy, and questionable parenting decisions. We'll revisit our childhood memories, favorite moments, and the enduring magic of Charles Schulz's creation, including Snoopy's World War I combat flashbacks and Charlie Brown's annual humiliation at the hands of his entire neighborhood. Along the way, we'll explore why this little animated special continues to capture our hearts, despite featuring more rejection, existential dread, and shattered dreams than most Oscar-winning dramas. So grab a beer, raise a toast to the Great Pumpkin, and remember: after 60 years, Linus is still waiting, Charlie Brown is still getting rocks, and Lucy is still a licensed therapist charging five cents without a medical degree! 🍺🎃 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. Films that Time Forgot (Halloween Edition)

Send us Fan Mail October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer affects millions of individuals and families, and early detection, research, and support can make a real difference. If you'd like to learn more or make a donation, please consider visiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://www.bcrf.org) or the National Breast Cancer Foundation (https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/). From all of us at Films & Fermentation, here's to everyone fighting, everyone surviving, and everyone we've lost along the way. Tonight on Films & Fermentation, we're digging up some forgotten horror and Halloween movies that have been buried so deep in cinematic history even the corpses have stopped asking for a sequel. 🎃 From obscure creature features and supernatural disasters to low-budget nightmares that probably cost less than the beer we're drinking, we're celebrating the films that time forgot, and in some cases, deliberately tried to erase. We'll revisit bizarre plots, questionable special effects, and acting performances so wooden that even the vampires are worried about getting staked. Along the way, we'll attempt to determine whether these movies are undiscovered horror gems or cinematic crimes that should have remained locked in a dusty VHS bargain bin. So grab a beer, turn down the lights, and join us as we prove that sometimes the scariest thing about a horror movie isn't the monster, it's the fact that somebody actually financed it! 🍺👻🎬 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. Halloween Movie Recasts: Humans, Muppets & Horrible Decisions

Send us Fan Mail Tonight on Films & Fermentation, we're celebrating Halloween by doing what Hollywood does best: taking perfectly good movies and replacing the actors with people who have absolutely no business being there. 🎃 Each of us has chosen a horror or Halloween classic to recast, but with one terrifying twist: we must decide whether our new stars will be actual human beings or a bunch of felt-covered lunatics with someone's hand up their backsides. We'll be replacing iconic performances, destroying childhood memories, and discovering that Kermit the Frog might actually be a more convincing leading man than half of Hollywood. Along the way, we'll answer the important questions, like whether Miss Piggy could survive a haunted house and whether the Swedish Chef should ever be trusted with a chainsaw. So grab a beer, lock your doors, and prepare for the scariest words in Hollywood: “We're doing a remake!” 🍺🎬 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. History of the World Pt. 1 (45th Anniversary)

Send us Fan Mail Tonight, we’re celebrating the 45th anniversary of Mel Brooks’ History of the World, Part I, the movie that finally taught us everything our history teachers were apparently too cowardly to cover. From cavemen and the Roman Empire to the Spanish Inquisition and Louis XVI, Brooks proves that thousands of years of human civilization were really just an elaborate setup for dick jokes. We’ll revisit the movie’s greatest scenes, ridiculous characters, endlessly quotable lines, and the impressive number of historical atrocities that somehow become musical comedy. Along the way, we’ll determine whether History of the World has aged like fine wine or like something somebody left fermenting in a Roman sewer for 45 years. So grab a beer, summon Count de Monet, and remember: it’s good to be the king. 🍺👑🎬 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. From First Downs to First Takes: Football Players Turned Actors

Send us Fan Mail Tonight, we’re looking at football players who traded first downs for first takes, proving that apparently getting tackled by a 300-pound lineman is excellent preparation for Hollywood. 🏈🎬 From Jim Brown and Carl Weathers to Bubba Smith and Terry Crews, some of these guys left the gridiron and built acting careers that became almost as famous as their football ones. Others discovered that memorizing dialogue is considerably easier when nobody is trying to knock you unconscious before you finish the sentence. We’ll look at their football careers, their biggest roles, and determine who successfully made the leap from Sunday afternoon to Saturday night at the movies. So grab a beer, yell “ACTION!” on two, and join us as Films & Fermentation goes From First Downs to First Takes! 🍺🏈🎥 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. Creatures, Miniatures & Mayhem: The Practical Effects Movie Draft w/ Cthulhu Jack

Send us Fan Mail Tonight, we’re celebrating the glorious days when movie monsters were made of rubber, spaceships were hanging from wires, and blowing something up meant somebody actually had to blow something up. From prosthetic creatures and miniature cities to animatronic dinosaurs and stunt performers questioning their career choices, we’re drafting the greatest practical-effects movies from across the decades. Each of us will build our team while trying to decide whether to grab a classic now or risk watching Jurassic Park disappear one pick before we planned to take it. Along the way, we’ll undoubtedly argue about what actually counts as a practical effect, because apparently three guys drinking beer are now qualified to challenge decades of filmmaking terminology. So grab a pint, keep the CGI to a minimum, and remember: if the monster can actually eat the actor, it gets bonus points. 🍺🎬🦖 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. THE PEOPLE vs. ROGER EBERT: THE ROGER EBERT ZERO STAR FILM LIST

Send us Fan Mail Tonight, we’re celebrating one of the rarest achievements in cinema: making a movie Roger Ebert believed deserved absolutely nothing. Mike and Kev will try to identify twelve movies that earned the dreaded ZERO STARS, ranging from infamous cinematic disasters to a few choices that may cause us to question Roger’s usually impeccable judgment. Along the way, we’ll revisit some of Ebert’s most gloriously savage reviews, because nobody could professionally tell a filmmaker they’d wasted everyone’s time quite like Roger. There will be bad movies, questionable taste, wounded childhood nostalgia, and at some point we’re going to have to address the unforgivable fact that he gave  zero stars to a Films and Fermentation Cult Favorite. So grab a beer, put your thumbs firmly down, and remember: even half a star would have been an act of mercy. 🍺⭐🚫 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family. Where No Podcast Has Gone Before: 60 Years of Star Trek

Send us Fan Mail Sixty years ago, Star Trek boldly went where no television show had gone before, although it took two pilots, two captains, and a network saying “maybe try that again” to actually get there. 🖖 Tonight, we’re heading back to the beginning with The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before to see how Captain Pike’s strange trip to Talos IV eventually evolved into Kirk, Spock, and the Enterprise we all know. Then we’re raiding every corner of the Star Trek universe to build our perfect crew, choosing our captains, doctors, engineers, science officers, and the unfortunate redshirts required to keep the rest of us alive. Friendships will be tested, beloved characters will be stolen, and somebody will inevitably assemble a crew so dysfunctional that the Borg will take one look and turn around. So pour yourself something Romulan blue, set your phasers to fermentation, and join us as we celebrate 60 years of Star Trek by going Where No Podcast Has Gone Before! 🍺🚀 Don’t forget to drop us an email at filmsandfermentation@gmail.com or visit linktree.com/filmsandfermentation  to find all our social media and podcast links.   Become part of the Films and Fermentation Family.
