    Local Legend - Melonheads

    We talk about the melonheads! A group of children who supposedly were experimented on before they escaped to the forests of norther Ohio...and Michigan...and Connecticut. Sightings are rare, but legends and details in the stories of them are surprisingly consistent. Minor trigger warning since the legends generally involve child experimentation/abuse, but there's not a lot of specific detail.     Gates of hell and Walhalla Rd**

    There is a section in Columbus, just north of the OSU campus that doesn't belong. Deep ravines, rushing creeks, rocky outcrops, things you'd see in Hocking Hills, not the middle of the city. This section is home to a few different places of legend; The Gates of Hell (aka: The Blood Bowl) and Walhalla Rd. Just under 2 miles from each other, these 2 places have more in common than you'd think. But what does Glen Echo Park have to do with any of it?     Mansfield Reformatory

    An hour north of Columbus, right in the middle of Ohio's heartland, rests one of the country's most infamous buildings. Ohio State Reformatory... OSR... Mansfield Reformatory... its a place of many names. The Mansfield Reformatory was open for less than 100 years, but it's impact on the little community surrounding it has lasted much longer. Five years after it was abandoned, and demolition started, it was spared from it's fate by a newly formed non profit organization. This haunted reformatory was once a place for hope, but now is the premiere destination for ghost hunters, tattoo and music enthusiasts, and haunted house lovers everywhere.     Legendary Figure - Hugh Glass

    Back in the 1800s, the country was still so new and barely explored. A special breed of rugged men; explored, mapped, hunted, and lived adventure. One such man survived a chance pirate attack that would kick off his extraordinary life. Sailor turned mountain man, his tale has been told and retold, recreated by Hollywood and (probably highly) embellished over the years, this is the unbelievable life of Hugh Glass.
