Professional Athlete Consultant and First Ever Female Public Address Announcer for World Juniors Izzy Germain Shares her Philosophies for Success, Building Relationships, and Working in Hockey

Today I talked with Izzy Germain! Izzy played university hockey at Dalhousie University before getting into broadcasting while still in college! She was the first ever female Public Address Announcer for the 2023 World Juniors, worked for the Boston Fleet as the director of Team Services/Hockey Operations, she is the COO of the Jill Saulnier Foundation, runs hockey operations for Hilary Knight’s hockey camps, was the lead play by play announcer for the PWHPA for the 2022-23, and so much more in the hockey world! Recently, she brought Taylor Heise’s first-ever hockey camp to life at Ridder! We talked about her philosophies in hockey and life, how she transitioned to being involved in hockey in new ways, her best advice on relationship building, and her thoughts on mental health.  This was such a special conversation, and I am so humbled that Izzy took the time to speak with me! It was so wonderful to learn from her, and I know you’ll take a lot of value from this episode.  Connect with her on Instagram @IzzyGermain to see all the great stuff she’s up to! Take 10 seconds to leave a review for the show if you enjoyed it! I’ll see you next week!  Bye! * * * FOUR MINUTES WITH FIONA PODCAST A four-minute podcast with athletes, entrepreneurs, and high achievers. Your Habits Determine Your Identity and Destiny with Francis Marotte Former Pro Hockey Player and Performance Coach

Today I got to talk with Francis Marotte! He played college hockey at Robert Morris before transferring to Clarkson in his senior year, where he was one of the top goalies in the nation, earning All-American Honors, ECAC Hockey Ken Dryden Goaltender of the Year, and First Team League All-Star.  After Clarkson, he played professional hockey in the AHL, ECHL, and EIHL. Now he is a performance coach, co-founder of the brand Stride Lifestyle along with Anthony Callin of the Worcester Railers. He’s built a big following online sharing his story and great performance tips for athletes.  We had a phenomenal conversation about how your habits shape your identity, the keys to being successful, and why success doesn’t happen overnight. Frank has an awesome perspective and is dedicated to being his best self while helping others do the same. I am super thankful he took the time to come on the podcast to chat! Enjoy! Former D1 Athlete and Record Holder Marne Sullivan on Finding Her Voice, Supporting Loved Ones Who are Deaf, and the Importance of Self Care as an Athlete

Today, I talked with Marne Sullivan! Marne is a former collegiate runner who competed in track and cross country for both BC and USC! She graduated from Boston College in 2023 with a degree in Communications and Marketing. By chronicling her journey with a cochlear implant and discussing topics like accessibility and mindset, she has built an incredible community and become a powerful voice for change. Marne was honored with the National Inspirer Award from the Cochlear Foundation and the Malala Fund, received the 2023 Golden Eagles Inspiration Award, and was recognized for Boston College's Interruption Award for the female athlete who best embodies the characteristics of being a BC Eagle. She also earned the Mel Hein Award and the Coach's Award for USC Track & Field. In our conversation, we explored accessibility in college athletics, her path to sharing her story, and ways to support loved ones who are deaf. We also discussed the importance of self-love and self-care as an athlete—two essential but often overlooked topics. I loved this conversation, and I know you will, too!
