Thank you both for this endeavor. So much insight and intelligent discussion within. The guests/interviews are always illuminating.. cos of the smart questions asked.
Ellen’s opinions are sometimes predictably cynical .. is it a Gen Z or a Millennial thing? Much is judged through the lens of hindsight, decades of internet discussion and general frustration with our devolving society.
Understandably so, and her viewpoint is still crucial. Agreed or not, her takes are always thoughtful and relevant.
One thing I’d say re; can a music festival be anything more than a historical document?
I’d tell her.. for an artist/player or young artist in the making.. concert films *seen in the theater especially* can be life changing. By virtue of that live music alone.
They can be inspirational, career launchers. A great performance of a tune can bring you to tears of
joy. Not just from nostalgia.
I’d go so far as to say sitting in a dark theater with a crowd watching loud concert footage can in some ways be a heightened, more direct experience. Free of the distractions of people around you, more able to focus and be immersed. The best ones do it, anyway.
anyway enough of my yakking.. whad’ya say, let’s boogie!
thanks again you guys ❤️❤️❤️
