Ask the Ascot

My kids and I found Ask the Ascot through Sawbones, which we love. Now we love this, too. Ask the Ascot is not a kids podcast, but there’s an agelessness to it. Super nerdy. SUPER nerdy. But clever. Some jokes are good, some are bad, a few miss the mark—always a bit tongue-in-cheek, and the overall effect works. Also, Michael’s voice kind of softly bumbles and bumps—it’s a brilliant bedtime podcast, for that reason.

Michael Beck’s new show, Ask the Ascot, is the highlight of my week. It’s informative with gentle and self-deprecating humor. Ask Mr. Beck anything and he’ll tell you exactly what you need to know; whether it was related to your question or not. The timbre of his voice makes for a soothing listen and each episode is in digestible chucks that will leave you wanting more. If you haven’t yet listened to Ask the Ascot then join the army of “gentle listeners” and start living the good life.

Subtly funny, odd, and fun. Short runtime keeps it light.

I am amused. I am relaxed. I am interested. Michael’s tone and persona are simply delightful. I could listen to this show all day long.
