Career Change at 40 (What No One Tells You About Starting Again)

Thinking about a career change at 40, but worried you're too old to start over? Maybe you've spent 20 years building a successful career, only to realize that the promotions, higher salary, and bigger responsibilities haven't given you the freedom or fulfillment you expected. If you're feeling stuck in your career at 40, 45, or even 50, you're not alone. And changing careers in midlife doesn't have to mean throwing away everything you've worked for. In this video, I break down 3 common myths about changing careers after 40 and what no one tells you about starting again. I also share my own experience of climbing the corporate ladder, finally reaching the leadership position I had worked so hard for, and realizing that my version of success came with a cost I hadn't anticipated: nonstop meetings, late nights, and less time with my family. We'll explore: - Why 40 isn't too old to change careers or reinvent yourself - Why you don't need to know exactly what you want before exploring what's next - How to recognize when your definition of career success no longer works for you - How to identify transferable skills without starting from scratch - Practical ways to explore a new career without quitting your job - Why staying in an unfulfilling career may have costs you're overlooking The biggest question isn't whether you're too old to start over. It's whether the career you've built is still supporting the life you want to live. If you're a midcareer professional or woman in leadership who wants more freedom, fulfillment, and financial success without sacrificing everything you've built, this conversation is for you. 💬 LET'S TALK: What's keeping you from making a career change - fear of starting over, financial security, or not knowing what you want next? "Should I Quit My Job?": The Question You're Not Asking

“Should I quit my job?” If you’re feeling stuck in your career, dealing with job burnout, or wondering when to leave a job, there’s a question to ask first: “What am I looking to quit?” Is it a toxic work environment? Feeling unseen and underappreciated? The long hours? Or a career that no longer fits the life you want? In this video, I share how to think through quitting your job, changing careers, or leaving corporate with more clarity - especially when you’ve spent years building your career and don’t want to regret your next move. We’ll explore: • Why changing jobs may leave some frustrations unresolved • How to distinguish escaping a bad situation from pursuing an opportunity you want • What social media stories about quitting corporate often leave out • A third option beyond staying or leaving: exploring an interest, education, or business while you’re still employed • Five questions to help you prepare for your next career move Whether you’re considering a career change at 40, looking for better work-life balance, or simply thinking, “I hate my job, but I don’t know what else to do,” this conversation will help you identify what actually needs to change. Politics and Conflict: Post-Election Discussion

Feeling exhausted by the divisiveness and toxicity of politics? The recent election was yet another example of how political battles can derail communities from working together toward shared goals. When two sides become more focused on winning than listening, it reflects a deeper issue that goes beyond government. This ‘us vs. them’ mentality doesn’t just stay confined to Capitol Hill—it seeps into our workplaces, our families, and even our friendships. When politicians resort to personal attacks to secure a win, it’s a reflection of how we often handle conflict in our own lives. Think about it—how often do we let our emotions take over, preventing us from having a meaningful conversation with a colleague or loved one simply because we feel the need to be right? It’s a pattern that keeps us stuck, holding us back from true progress. In my latest episode, I explore how emotions can take the driver’s seat, stopping us from having the open, honest conversations we need. I challenge you to shift your mindset: approach differences with curiosity instead of judgment, and see conflict as a chance for growth—not just individually, but collectively. True progress happens when we’re willing to listen, respect diverse perspectives, and work toward common ground, even when it’s difficult. If you're craving more harmony and deeper connections, whether at work, at home, or in your community, this episode is for you. Let’s move beyond division together.
