Cathi Colas Audiobooks and High Horse Press Presents Episode 1 of THE MURDER AT THE VICARAGE by Agatha Christie

Today we meet the vicar, Leonard Clement, who, while trying to carve a tough piece of boiled beef during lunch, offhandedly remarks that anyone who murdered the unpopular Colonel Lucius Protheroe would be doing the world a public service. His nephew Dennis jokingly warns him that if Protheroe is ever murdered, people will remember him saying that while brandishing a carving knife (can you say foreshadow).  We also meet his wife, Griselda. She is not the traditional parson’s wife and no one in St. Mary Mead is really sure how that whole thing came together. Then there is the young artist, Lawrence Redding, who is staying in the village and using a shed in the vicarage garden as a studio. He has been painting a portrait of Griselda, as well as painting Colonel Protheroe’s daughter, Lettice, in a bathing suit (scandalous!) Later that day, Griselda hosts a tea for the older ladies in the parish, one of whom is the famed Miss Marple. They have a lot to say about almost everyone.  I hope you have been enjoying these episodes as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.  Reviews and shares make a huge difference.
