    Jesus: Savior

Jesus: Savior Who is Jesus, really? And what does it mean to have a personal relationship with Him? In this episode of Whispers of Hope, Abby and Sally dive deep into the incredible story of Jesus: Savior. We explore the prophecies, details, and divine intentionality woven throughout Scripture that point to Him as our Redeemer. From the very beginning in Genesis to the cross and the resurrection, we discover how God's plan of redemption was never an afterthought. It was His plan from the foundation of the world. Abby shares fascinating connections between God's design of the human body, Old Testament prophecies, and the fulfillment of Scripture through Jesus. Together, we discuss what makes Jesus different, why Christianity is about relationship rather than religion, and the beautiful truth that we serve a living Savior who desires to know us personally. We also explore the gift of the Holy Spirit, what it means to be sealed as God's own, and why developing our own relationship with Jesus is so important. You don't have to rely on someone else's faith, understanding, or experience. You can seek Him for yourself. Whether you're full of questions, struggling with doubt, angry at God, or simply wondering if there's something more to life, He is not afraid of your questions. TRAUMA-INFORMED SEGMENT: The Healing Power of Creating In this segment, Sally shares how creativity can become a meaningful part of the healing journey. Whether it's journaling, drawing, painting, cooking, gardening, crafting, or building something with your hands, the simple act of creating can help support emotional regulation, reconnect you with the present moment, and give you an opportunity to rediscover something trauma may have made you feel disconnected from: choice. You don't have to be talented. It doesn't have to be beautiful. It doesn't even have to be good. The healing opportunity is in the doing. Our hope is that you walk away from this episode remembering three things: Jesus isn't just a religious figure. He is a living Savior who wants a personal relationship with you. God's love for you was intentional. The cross was not an accident, and you were never an afterthought. You are more than what you've survived. You were created with purpose, imagination, gifts, and the ability to rediscover joy. Whether you're a longtime believer, someone exploring faith for the first time, or someone who isn't quite ready to walk through the doors of a church, there is a place for you here. You are loved. You are seen. And it's time to do more than survive. It's time to thrive. Scripture references: Genesis 1–3, Genesis 12, 2 Samuel, Isaiah 7, Isaiah 9, Isaiah 52–53, Micah 5, Zechariah 11, Psalm 16, Psalm 22, Exodus 12, Ephesians 1:13, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:3, and John 3:16. Jesus: The Word

Jesus: The Word What if we stopped reading the Bible simply as a collection of stories and began reading it as one story—the story of Jesus? In this episode, Abby and Sally take a journey through Scripture, tracing the threads that point to Jesus from Genesis through the Old Testament and into the Gospels. From creation, Noah, Abraham and Isaac, Joseph, Moses and the Passover, Joshua, David, the prophets, and the promises of the coming Messiah, we explore the beautiful ways Scripture continually points us toward the Savior. Jesus wasn't God's backup plan. He wasn't an afterthought. He was always the point. He is the Word, the promise, the Passover Lamb, the Redeemer, the Shepherd, the Savior, the King, and ultimately the One who makes all things new. Our prayer is that this conversation would encourage you to open your Bible with fresh eyes—not simply looking for what Scripture can tell you about yourself, but looking for what it reveals about God's heart and His love for humanity. And in today's trauma-informed segment, we talk about something every person encounters at some point: rejection. For those who have experienced trauma, rejection can sometimes touch wounds that go much deeper than the moment itself. We talk about the ways rejection can show up as people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, anger, withdrawal, insecurity, or the belief that someone else's rejection somehow means something about our worth. But rejection does not define you. Someone can reject you without God rejecting you. Someone can leave you without God leaving you. Someone can fail to recognize your worth without God losing sight of who He created you to be. Healing doesn't mean pretending we weren't hurt. It means learning that our hurt doesn't have to define us. So take a breath, open your Bible, and come discover the One who has been there from the beginning. Jesus is the prize. Jesus is the promise. Jesus is the hope. Jesus is the Word.
